An influencer asked her followers to guess her age and was shocked when their attempts were way off the mark.

Some people will spend their lives trying to work out how to reverse their age, which often includes a cabinet full of creams and other treatments.

Others are graced with youthful looks late into their life, while some are old souls and those grey hairs start coming through pretty early.

Given that it can be tricky to guess someone's age just by looking at them, one woman took to social media to ask her followers to say how old they believe she is.

London-based brand marketing specialist and book reviewer, Christie Cloggs, recently conducted a live session on TikTok, inviting her nearly 7,000 followers to guess her age.

During the live session, one follower guessed: "I thought you were 35," prompting Cloggs to realize that many of her followers were unaware of her age. Curious, she asked for their guesses, receiving a range of estimates from late 20s to mid-40s, per the Daily Mail.

While some praised her youthful skin, others commented on her style, suggesting that it made her appear older. One follower remarked: "You look 25, but your style gives off 38-40," while another said: "Your face is giving 27, your vibe and classy style say mid 30s."

Cloggs revealed in a follow-up video that she is, in fact, 26 years old. In response to the age miscalculations, she mentioned burning her clothes and trying out a center parting instead of her usual side parting.

People expressed their thoughts under the reveal, as one person revealed: "I was one of the people that said 40’s but that was mostly down to style and mature vibe. Your skin is fresh and flawless. Just an old soul."

A second added: "I think it's more mannerisms and overall style. And you can't change those without compromising who you are? Chin up, and put the pearls back on!"

A third person said: "Please don’t change yourself based on the perception of others. Dress in clothes that make you happy and confident!"

Experts suggest that millennials, like Cloggs, may benefit from healthier diets, improved skincare knowledge, and advancements in makeup, allowing them to appear more youthful than previous generations at the same age.

However, the trend doesn't seem to continue with Generation Z, as overexposure to skincare techniques and other factors may contribute to premature aging.

Aesthetic experts warn that factors such as vaping, blue light exposure, and early use of cosmetic procedures might make younger individuals look older than they are.

Dr. Rasha Rakhshani-Moghadam, a celebrity cosmetics doctor, emphasized the importance of responsible use of fillers and toxins, as misuse can impact natural facial development.

I think the moral of this story is to dress however makes you happy and that it's the little things like drinking more water and eating well that will maintain youthful looks!
