A student has been causing chaos at his school after purchasing a $16 device from Amazon that can test whether or not his teachers' engagement and wedding rings contain real diamonds.

The rising TikTok star goes by the name of DiamondTesterKid, and he uploaded his first video on September 21.

The post soon went viral, garnering over 4.9 million views, and features the student uses a Diamond Selector II to test whether his teacher is wearing a real diamond ring or a fake made using simulant stone-like cubic zirconium.

It's worth noting that while stimulant stones can look just as beautiful, if a "diamond" wedding or engagement ring isn't what it appears to be, it's probably a good idea to tell the person wearing it...

"You think it's real?" the TikToker asks his teacher.

"Yeah, of course!" she replies.

"Let me test it," the teen says, putting the Diamond Selector II's tip to the center stone.

After putting the ring to the test, the student concludes that it is not a real diamond, and needless to say, his teacher does not look best pleased about the revelation.

In another shocking TikTok video which has been viewed upwards of 9.7M times, the TikToker goes into his teacher's classroom and puts her wedding ring to the test.

Watch it below:

"Hey hey, Miss T!" he says. "You married, right?"

The teacher then says yes and confirms it with her wedding ring before the teen asks if it is a real diamond.

"I hope so…" she replies.

Miss T's ring was also deemed to be a fake, which resulted in a very angry call to her husband.

"I got this kid in my room telling me that my ring isn't real," she said on the call, which the TikToker slyly recorded. "Are you kidding me right now? Is it real or is it not real?"

While these two ladies were left sorely disappointed by the TikToker's revelations, not everyone he tested was, and in one video, a teacher puts three of her rings and a bracelet to the test and three of the diamonds are said to be real.

The stone which wasn't a diamond, per Yahoo News, appears to be what's known as a semiprecious stone like aquamarine, and the tool does not have the ability to detect them.
