One TikToker has revealed why people should never wear a claw clip in a moving vehicle after having a very lucky near miss herself.

A claw clip is a staple in many women's accessories bags, being a quick and easy way to put your hair up when needed.

While it may seem pretty innocuous as a hair accessory, it turns out in the wrong circumstances, it could actually prove deadly to the wearer.

Paisley, who goes by @paisley.rileyyy on the app, revealed that she had cheated death after being involved in a car accident in which her own claw clip had become embedded into her head.

While most claw clips end up snapping when a wearer simply leans on them too hard while laying down, Paisley revealed her blood-stained clip and footage of her in hospital, telling her followers: "The claw clip didn't even break bruh. They casually just handed it back to me".

She had earlier shared an image of her head after the clip had done its damage and she needed five staples to close up her scalp, but it was taken down due to it being deemed too graphic for TikTok.

Paisley also shared her story to help encourage others not to wear claw clips while in a moving vehicle, as a hard impact could drive the accessory into the back of their head, revealing she'd been lucky to survive.

She explained: "I just posted those videos to spread awareness of girls that drive around with claw clips because I was very lucky that I just needed staples.

"So this last Saturday, me and my friend were in her boyfriend's [car], we were riding and I had to go pee so she was taking me go and she turned really hard and we were going just under 20 miles an hour and we rolled, and the back of my head hit a metal bar, which lodged the claw clip in the back of my head."

She was taken to hospital to have a CT scan and an X-ray to check that she didn't have any brain damage as a result of the impact, revealing she was "very lucky" that she did not have, and ended up getting five staples to close up the skin.

Paisley added: "I have gotten many, many, many comments about how people they know have been in wrecks and have died from having a claw clip in their hair because it caused too much brain damage and it was permanent.

"I just posted those videos to let other girls know that it can be very dangerous to have a hairclip or a claw clip or anything like that in the back of their hair, because I was very lucky - it could have been so much worse. It could have been worse than just five staples."

In any case, it's probably a pretty good idea to take your claw clip out while in any moving vehicle just in case.
