Person on 2,000 passenger nude cruise gives warning to anyone who may get 'aroused'
A man who went on a nude cruise with more than 2,000 passengers has issued a warning about what happens if someone gets a little too excited.
One passenger attended a week-long cruise organized by Bare Necessities, which costs around $2,500 for seven days at sea.
While on board, nudists are free to be clothes-free unless an announcement states otherwise.
Guests are also required to cover up when the ship is docked alongside in port.
Despite what some might assume about a nude cruise, the company stressed on its website that their cruise are not for anyone seeking a 'lifestyle or swinger experience'.
"As an affiliated club of the American Association of Nude Recreation (AANR), we adhere to its standards of etiquette and decorum.
"Violations of these standards will result in immediate disembarkation at the next port of call, without refund or compensation of any kind," they added.
What happens if someone gets aroused?
The passenger took to Reddit to open up about the experience, revealing that he is 'an experienced nudist' and felt 'very comfortable from the beginning' of the trip.
Of course, many people were curious about how the cruise handles awkward situations like someone getting aroused.
One user asked: "Maybe not specific to the cruise, but nudism in general...
"I'm assuming boners just happen, since it happens in everyday clothed life, too.
"Are they frowned upon or just accepted in this environment?"
The cruiser responded that 'being aroused' is something that rarely happens among nudists.
"In my experience, they almost never happen. This cruise is very non-sexual, so a man would want to hide it somehow. Non-nudists think about this a lot more than nudists do," they wrote.
When other users asked similar questions, the nudist warned: "This was a cruise for nudists, not a 'lifestyle' cruise.
"Accordingly, there was no public sex and no erections that I saw.
"An erection would be considered poor form in this environment."
Nude cruises are not what many people expect
The passenger revealed that most people who participate in the cruise do so because they enjoy the freedom of being naked.
They compared it to skinny dipping and explained that it feels 'great' to swim, walk on the beach, or dance without clothing.
The cruiser also mentioned the strict 'golden rule' every guest is expected to follow onboard: sitting directly on public furniture is strictly off-limits.
"No bare butts on any surface in any public space. Ever. That's not a difficult concept.
"Nudists are as interested in hygiene as much as if not more than the next guy," they said.
The rule is also enforced by the major nude cruise operator, who stated on their website: "Please sit on a towel at all times while nude, in a G-string, thong, or any time you are bare-bottomed."
The company says fresh beach towels are provided daily in cabins, while additional towels are available throughout the ship for guests who forget to bring them.
