A flight attendant has taken to social media to share a simple trick to get customers special treatments on flights.
Stewardess Kat Kamalani, who goes by the handle @katkamalani on TikTok, took to the platform last week to share a video captioned: "Your flight will change DRAMATICALLY", in order to give potential airline passengers some much-needed advice.
In the video, Kat herself states that buying an attendant a small treat or a token, such as a Starbucks gift card or some candy, can go a long way towards making jetlagged and groggy cabin crew feel appreciated.
Take a look at Kat's video right here:This, in turn, can often mean that the customer will get small favors from them, which can help to make the flight more comfortable.
Kat stated: "And if you don't have gift cards, you can just pick up some candy bars, lip balm, anything and give them to your flight attendants.
"We will know where you're sitting, and we will know what you look like and the whole crew will make sure you are taken care of."
Her advice clearly resonated with other TikTok users as it's now racked up millions of views, and 830,000 reactions, at the time of writing.
For example, one person responded: "I've gotten free drinks just for being polite. It's so rare these days that they appreciate it. Has happened to me on Delta and Jet Blue."
A second wrote: "I always give them donuts!!!! They treat me so nice lol. [sic]"
A third added: "I never thought about giving little gifts, but it makes sense! Thanks for this!! [sic]"
While another chimed in: "I feel like FAs should be courteous as part of their job but there's nothing wrong with a little bit of extra appreciation."
Another then stated: "I've always had amazing FAs but we started doing this and it's fun to see their faces light up."
Finally, this commenter wrote: "I did this on my flight on Christmas and the flight attendants were SO thankful. They have so so much free stuff even tho I didn't ask/expect it!"
