A woman has left people divided after she revealed that she'd been slipped a "creepy" note on a plane by a man.

Air travel can be uncomfortable at the best of times, from your ears popping on take-off to being trapped in your seat for hours with little leg room, there are many ways it can be a less than pleasant experience.

And it only gets worse if you happen to find yourself seated next to a stranger who makes your journey awkward.

One woman was left in that predicament after revealing a man slipped her a note along with a $100 bill - and what he wrote in it left others seriously divided.

The woman, who goes by @EYEamLRBY on Twitter (now X), revealed in the post, which has since been viewed over 1.6 million times, that the man had slipped her the note saying: "Take this and read it lGettyImages-1215188380 (1).jpgThe man had been admiring the woman's hair on the plane. She admitted: "I feel like it was weird," before revealing what exactly he'd written once she'd left the plane.

The woman explained: "It was a handwritten note complimenting my hair at length … and [a] $100 bill."

She revealed in a follow-up post that while the interaction was definitely very odd, she didn't feel like the man was being creepy as he "didn’t leave a number and there was clearly no expectation or hope that we would interact again."

However, people on Twitter were definitely not of the same opinion, as they did not hesitate to let her know just how creepy they found his behavior to be.

They commented: "That’s creepy. The true definition," and: "He definitely underestimated the creepiness."

Another added: "if he had to say it's not creepy, then even the guy knew it was creepy," while someone else wrote: "Definitely a little creepy, but big props for him just gifting a hundy."

Others defended the man, writing: "Am I the only person that would love this lmao, like he really wrote a love letter to your locks. That’s hot."

Another wrote: "I mean s**t, if bro had the respect to leave you alone after complimenting you and paying for your haircare, I have huge respect for him back. No stalking, no entitled whining about you not giving him sex for a compliment, just appreciation for beauty in life."

One jokingly asked: "How does one achieve hair so nice that strangers give you cash?"
