A plane passenger has taken to social media to reveal that she was repeatedly cussed out by an angry mom after refusing to let her sit next to her son.

Now, we all know that the worst part of any plane journey is the annoying strangers that just so happen to be on the same flight as you. They're loud, sometimes smelly, and seem to be having a romantic affair with the armrest between you (I sure hope my personal feelings aren't coming out too much here).

Anyway, TikToker Surya Garg (@Surya_Garg) found herself in a peculiar situation during a recent flight, when she was asked to swap seats so a mom could sit next to her son.

The only problem was, Garg had a very nice window seat that she says she paid extra for and she didn't want to.

Speaking to her 1,500+ followers, she says in her video that she found herself sitting next to "the absolute worst person to on an airplane".

Check out Garg's post below:

She goes on to address the frequent online debate: Should you give up your seat to allow for a family to sit together?

Garg explains that if a mom or dad of a young child asked her to move, she certainly would respect the fact that the child probably has to sit next to their parent. But this certainly wasn't the case on her recent flight, when she found herself sitting next to a mom of a "16 or 17-year-old".

"Like, this man was six-foot-four, talking on the phone to his girlfriend," Garg says of the son. "This was not, like, her child. It was her kid... but he's an adult."

Eventually, the mom asked Garg to swap her window seat for a middle seat a few rows behind so that she could sit with her son. But after Garg determined that this was simply a case of "bad planning", she politely rejected the mom's request.

"This woman makes the nastiest face at me," Garg recalls. "[She] sits down next to me in the middle seat that she's assigned to, her son goes back to the middle seat that he's assigned to at the back.

"And then, I kid you not, under her breathe for the entirety of the flight is just, like, muttering profanities at me."

Sarg then asks: "Am I in the wrong here?"

But after the video amassed more than 500,000 views, it's safe to say the majority of social media users were on her side.

"The way she reacted is precisely why you should not give up your seat. Good job for sticking up for yourself," one person commented.

A second added: "She could have asked whoever was sitting next to her son to switch with her. People are so entitled. You did nothing wrong."

Even travel company Expedia commented on the post, writing: "Not in the wrong".
