A woman's small act of revenge against a couple who sat in front of her family at the beach has divided social media users.
In a video TikTok post shared by Madison Gooch (@madison3gooch), an elderly couple can be seen sitting in front of a family enjoying a day out at the beach.
However, writing in overlaying text on the video, the TikToker explains to her near-7,000 followers: "A whole beach and this couple chooses to sit right in front of us."
Unimpressed by the couple's beach etiquette, Gooch's mom decides to take action. Crushing up some potato chips, her mom then proceeds to calmly walk towards the sea, before throwing the crumbs behind the couple - who were blissfully unaware as they sat in their deck chairs.
As the mom pretends to frolic in the sea, the video then shows her plan unfolding as planned, with a flock of hungry birds surrounding the couple and disturbing their peace and quiet.
Check out the clip below:The clip ends with the couple grabbing their belongings and walking away, with Gooch simply writing: "Move."
However, after amassing over 7 million views in just a few weeks, people in the comments section have remained pretty divided over the act.
There were some who praised the resourcefulness of Gooch's mom and who agreed that the couple should have chosen to sit elsewhere and not block somebody else's view.
"Your mom is a true hero," one person wrote, with a second adding: "This is the level of petty I ASPIRE to be. Don't pay attention to any negative comments, this is beautiful."
A third wrote: "People are so self-righteous. They looked at you guys knowing they blocked your view and still sat there unbothered. Great job."
"Probably the same folks that park next to you in an empty parking lot," added a fourth.
However, there were also plenty of people that disagreed with the bird-baiting, with people agreeing that nobody owns the beach and people have a right to sit where they like.
"That was that dumbest thing to do, you couldn’t walk up and ask them to move or you guys could of moved it is a public beach," one TikToker asked.
Meanwhile, another added: "Just move again. It’s a public place. People are not trying to intentionally harming you. You, however are intentionally trying to harm. The narcissism."
One person even argued: "Why didn’t you just move to the left or right??"
