Ricky Smith, 36, from Pennsylvania, is doing all he can to support his family. Working three jobs, he is already putting 100 per cent into bringing up his daughter, but he went the extra mile with this heartwarming surprise.

His daughter, 14-year-old Nevaeha, has an upcoming school dance and was hoping she could get a dress for the occasion. Knowing that her father worked hard just to keep things running, she asked him whether the $200 price tag was too far out of his price range.

When he told her that it was, she was disappointed but recognised how much effort he was putting into making ends meet. However, Ricky had been secretly putting money aside for the dress, and ended up surprising his daughter when she visited him at work. Her reaction, as you can see in the video below, is priceless.

Speaking to ABC News, the father said that after she asked him about the dress, he spoke to her mother - who suggested they surprise her. He called her into his workplace, and his wife came along with a camera ready to capture the moment:

"I was working at McDonald's that day and I put the dress in the back,

"She came, and I brought it out and told her that her grandmother bought it for her and I told her, 'This ain't the dress you wanted, but I hope you like it.'"

"To see the look on her face it was priceless. All I can really do was smile."

Wonderful, isn't it? Nevaeha certainly thought so.

"My heart felt like there was more love in it than there was before," Nevaeha told ABC News. "I love him and I'm really happy that's he's my father."
