There's more anger on an airplane, as a woman was left pretty bemused after her fiancé was removed from his seat so a member of the cabin crew could rest.

As a species, it seems like we haven't mastered the art of flying without an immense amount of stress involved - but we live in hope.

We often see viral clips of passengers refusing to move out of a seat that somebody else has booked, and usually, the crew are the reasonable ones.

But what if it's a member of the crew kicking you out of a seat that has probably cost a fair bit of money? That's exactly the situation that Danielle Schwab and her fiancé Mikey found themselves in.

Taking to TikTok, the bride-to-be told her followers about the ordeal she faced while sitting on her United Airlines flight.

Explaining that the flight was from London to Chicago, Danielle said: "We booked these seats, we're in first class. All of a sudden, my fiancé got moved to coach."

She went on to reveal that Mikey was asked to move so a member of the flight staff could have his seat so they could sit in first class instead.

"I understand that the crew works really hard," Danielle went on. "However, we booked these seats ahead of time and this is not fair. This is not customer service."

In a follow-up video, Danielle confirmed that Mikey was selected from a "list" and that her fiancé was also offered the chance to get a first-class seat on another flight or receive a refund of the difference in seat costs.

The bride-to-be also claimed that one of the flight attendants admitted that the situation wasn't handled well and that her colleagues did everything they could to ensure Mikey had a pleasant journey.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, United Airlines said: "The seats we normally reserve for crew members to take their required rest breaks weren't working on this flight, so we, unfortunately, had to reassign two customers to Premium Plus rather than cancel the flight.

"We understand the customer's frustration and are refunding the price difference for their seats and giving them each a $1,500 (£1,200) certificate for future travel."

Despite being offered financial compensation, views on TikTok still believed this wasn't enough. "Everyone saying to just get the reduced fair isn’t getting the point- they paid for a certain experience and didn’t get it after getting engaged," one person commented.

A second person said: "Sounds like a problem for the airline, not the customer that paid for the seat."
