A traveler has sparked a debate online after claiming that a fellow passenger "shoved" her seat after she reclined during a long-haul flight.
Traveling on a long flight can be uncomfortable, especially if you have economy seats as you won't be able to enjoy the same luxury as first class and business passengers.
One frustrated TikToker named Taylor Futch - who goes by the handle @tfutchh - took to the social media platform to seek advice from her followers after experiencing an incident on an aircraft.
Taylor posted a close-up video of her face with an overlay text that read: "Y'all, this girl just shoved my seat forward and said I’m not allowed to recline for my 10-hour flight because it’s too much for her." She then asked: "What do I do?" and added in the caption: "What would you do?"
Watch the TikTok below:With about 2.6 million views on TikTok, Taylor received over 7K comments from followers who were hopelessly divided by the situation.
Some people said that she was more than justified in her decision to recline her seat, as one user penned: "This happened to me I was like actually no [you] can put [your] seat back too and then it’ll be the same distance plz this is [an] 8hr flight! The nerve."
Another said: "Absolutely recline. It doesn’t recline much more than 2' so unless there is a 6 person behind me, it’s going back," and a third chimed in: "Idk what everyone else is on about. Every long haul flight I have been on literally EVERYONE reclines. People only sit up when food comes."
A fourth added: "Yall, it’s like 3inches of reclining. Let her get comfy and the other lady can deal. They both paid for a ticket and can use the space as they wish," while one more shared: "Idk what everyone else is on about. Every long haul flight I have been on literally EVERYONE reclines. People only sit up when food comes."

However, others contended that it was wrong for her to recline as a commenter explained that "flying economy is difficult enough without someone pressing their seat into your face".
A second user interjected: "If someone reclines on me, I make their flight a nightmare. Because if I can’t do my thing in peace, neither can you," while someone added: "I refuse to decline because my comfort isn’t more important than the person's behind me."
In a follow-up video, Taylor explained the entire situation from her perspective.
According to the content creator, when she initially reclined her seat, the girl behind her "shoved" it back toward her. "Her mom was like she’s uncomfortable, it’s too small for her. Then, they were like throwing a fit," she claimed.
Taylor explained to the girl that she'd been flying all day and it was her last flight home. However, the girl, her boyfriend, and her mother were still supposedly complaining that the traveler would be "uncomfortable" with a reclined chair squishing her for the duration of the excursion.
The fellow passenger then allegedly called the flight attendant over, who said that Taylor was allowed to recline her seat, but she needed to put it up for "food service," to which Taylor said she "always did that".
But when the cabin crew member allegedly rolled her eyes in aggravation over the verbal altercation, the TikToker took matters into her own hands, saying: "I was like, 'Honestly, f*** this.'"
"The entire flight, I kept pushing the button and pushing my seat back cause [the other woman] was inching it forward the entire f*****g flight. It was so annoying," she continued. "You should be able to recline your seat on a 10-hour flight. I told her, 'If you want to be comfy, get first class.'"
Do you guys agree with her?
