One of the most iconic fantasy homes ever created is, of course, the humble Hobbit Hole. Buried into the ground, and as any fan of The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit will attest to, it's the epitome of snug and homely. And now, thanks to the almighty renting service that is Airbnb, it can be yours.

Perfect if you've ever wanted to channel your inner Bilbo Baggins. Just be sure not to open the door to anyone in a large pointy hat, otherwise, you might just find yourself on an almighty adventure!

Cast your mind back to the Fellowship of the Ring:

The Hobbit Hole looks like one of the best offerings Airbnb has, but it is surprisingly located in Virginia - not New Zealand, where the movies were filmed. Unlike its movie counterparts, the ceilings and doors are also high enough so you won't find yourself with an accidentally bruised head. But perhaps best of all, it comes with a 100% satisfaction rating.

The Airbnb ad reads: "Absolutely so authentic that you expect Gandalf to knock on the door with his staff or the Dwarves to ring the bell. It is not just a night’s stay, it's an adventure."

"Board the Buckleberry Ferry for an evening beverage, meal or a pipe of Old Toby and let your imagination run wild as you follow Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin down the Brandywine to Bree.

Enjoy your favorite beverage and our specialty seed cake while reading our collection of Hobbity books or just soaking up the magic and listening to The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings soundtracks on the Alexa. Bring your cosplay outfits and your favorite games."

Check out this deleted scene from the Two Towers:

The Hobbit Hole contains one bedroom, bed, and bathroom and is suitable for four guests. At $248.66 a night, it's definitely a rental that you won't be forgetting in a hurry, but don't just take my word for it.

Here's one of its many glowing reviews: "Absolute once in a lifetime experience; worth travelling all the way to the US for! Randy and Linda are the loveliest hosts who have taken so much time and care to make every guest feel welcomed and special. This is above and beyond what we expected; if you're in any doubt about booking: just do it! We will remember it forever."
