One nine-year-old boy in foster care tugged on the heartstrings of thousands after he pleaded for a family in a now-viral video.
Jordan made the plea in an interview with FOX59 News where it was revealed that he had been in foster care for six years and that he has aspirations of becoming a police officer.
Watch Jordan's plea for a family below:Jordan had previously been featured on the news channel three years ago with his brother, Braison, who has since been adopted, and as a result, he doesn't get to see him as often, leaving him lonelier than ever.
But after the interview above, Jordan has received a whopping 5,000 adoption applications.
Christopher Marlowe, a OKDHS Permanency Planning worker who is working on Jordan's case, said of the applications: "I'm in the process of reading through those profiles to select a family to try to move forward with."
"To have a family, and family, family. Those are the only wishes I have," the 9-year-old said.
"The reason it's important is so I could have some people to talk to any time I need to," Jordan added. "I hope one of y'all pick me."
According to Fox 4, Jordan has received adoption applications from all over Oklahoma, where he resides.
In the July interview, Jordan said: "I would just like to have a family to call mom and dad, or just mom, or just dad. I don't really care."
While some families had previously expressed an interest in adopting Jordan, their applications fell through during the disclosure process, Marlowe revealed.
"Even for a child that's been through custody, he's been through a whole lot compared to most of our kids," Marlowe told Fox 4.
Hopefully, the thousands of new applications will mean that Jordan will soon have the forever home he deserves.
"I'm really excited about this and very hopeful this is going to be the breakthrough we needed to find this kid a home," he said.
