Body of skydiver found on front lawn of Florida home after fatal fall

The body of a skydiver has been found on the front lawn of a residence near an airpark in Florida after suffering a fatal fall.

The skydiver's tragic death has left authorities in Titusville, Florida, searching for answers and detectives are now investigating the mysterious incident that unfolded near the airpark in the Sunshine State over the weekend.

According to authorities, the lifeless body of a man clad in skydiving attire and gear was discovered in the front yard of a residence on Saturday, just before 12:30PM, as reported by CBS News.

The location, situated approximately 50 miles east of Orlando, became the scene of a startling discovery that has left the community in shock.

The Titusville Police Department swiftly responded to the incident, and the Titusville Fire Department arrived at the scene.

Tragically, their efforts could do nothing to save the individual, as he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was also captured on a neighbor's surveillance camera. The footage revealed the heart-stopping moment when the skydiver descended from the sky, ultimately crash-landing on the unsuspecting homeowner's lawn.

CBS affiliate WKMG spoke to residents and witnesses about the event, as James Sconiers, a resident of the area, said: "I was asking the person that was laying on the ground, 'Hey man can you hear me, can you hear me?' But he did not answer."

Sconiers raised questions about the safety precautions in place during the jump, adding: "Look at the video and look at what happened. Why did he fall so hard if all the safety mechanisms were in place? Something tells me there's a problem there."

Nicole Lacount, another witness, described the scene, stating: "I work in the medical field. That's the worst I've ever seen."

She recalled her reaction upon hearing the sirens of a fire truck and ambulance, prompting her to rush outside and discover the parachutist on the ground.

The nearby Skydive Space Center, located just a few blocks away from the incident, has not provided any comment regarding whether the deceased parachutist was affiliated with their company.

While the victim's identity is being withheld for the time being, Titusville Police have indicated that more information will be made available later today.
