An 11-year-old boy has claimed that he was reincarnated and has vivid memories of being a powerful Hollywood agent who died 40 years ago.

Ryan Hammond, born in Oklahoma in 2004, was just three years old when he began recalling his supposed past life with remarkable details.

As reported by The Sun, Ryan has gathered national interest in the US based on his claims that he was a famous Hollywood agent prior to being reincarnated.

The 11-year-old believes that he was once Marty Martyn, who began his career as an extra in movies before turning his attention to working with the talent behind the scenes.

As per NBC News, Marty was born in Philadelphia in 1903 but moved to Los Angeles in his professional life where he set up the Marty Martyn Agency which had big names such as Glenn Ford.

Marty died from a brain hemorrhage in 1964 at the age of 61, and it's a death that Ryan appears to remember well. Speaking to NBC News, he said that he remembers his heart "exploding" before he moved towards the light.

Dr. Jim Tucker, associate professor of psychiatry and neurobehavioral sciences at the University of Virginia, studies cases of children who believe they are reincarnated, and Ryan is one that can recall the past with pinpoint accuracy.

The professor published a book titled Return To Life, in which a chapter is called He Came From Hollywood and it follows Ryan and his story.

Ryan would often instruct his mother to take him to Hollywood so he could see his "other family". He also recalled an incident that saw him punch Marilyn Monroe's bodyguard in his supposed past life.

Ryan's mother would gather images and books of Hollywood in Marty's era,  including a photo from the 1932 movie Night After Night featuring actor George Raft.

Allegedly, Ryan pointed straight to the actor and stated: "Hey Mama, that's George. We did a picture together. And mama, that guy's me. I found me," as he pointed to the man next to George.

Ryan eventually met Marty's sister and he couldn't understand why she was no longer a girl, as she would have been when Marty was alive.

Marty's daughter confirmed a number of Ryan's remarkable claims as they toured Los Angeles, seeing a number of sites associated with the former Hollywood agent.

Ryan also informed his mom that he in fact chose her to be his mother as he was being reincarnated.

As he has gotten older, memories of his alleged former life have faded.
