Cassie Ventura has reemerged on social media following two major life events; the birth of her third child with husband Alex Fine and her testimony against ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs in his high-profile criminal trial.
On Thursday, August 7, the 37-year-old singer shared a lighthearted Instagram Story reflecting on her postpartum journey. The clip, originally posted by the momswithplans account, shows a man dancing enthusiastically in front of a crowd while DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller plays.
Overlaid text reads: “When your old self slowly starts coming out postpartum.” Cassie added her own caption: “Factual. Little by little. lol.”
Ventura and Fine, 32, recently welcomed their third child, a baby boy, on May 28, nearly two weeks after she testified in Combs’ trial. The couple are also parents to daughters Frankie Stone, 5, and Sunny Cinco, 4.
The “Me & U” singer dated Combs for more than a decade before their split in 2018. During her testimony in May, Ventura described years of alleged abuse, including so-called “freak offs”, sex parties where she and others were allegedly forced to engage in sexual acts with male sex workers while Combs watched.
The trial concluded with the music mogul being found guilty on prostitution-related charges. He was acquitted of the most serious allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering.
Throughout the trial, Fine remained a steadfast presence in the courtroom, offering visible support to his wife. After the first week of testimony, he released a statement expressing pride, love, and outrage over what she endured.
“I have felt so many things sitting there,” Fine said. “I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her.”
He also clarified that his role was one of love and support, not rescue. “I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie,” Fine stated.
He added: “She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence, and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her. All I have done is love her as she has loved me.”
Cassie and Fine, who married in 2019, continue to focus on their growing family as she adjusts to life with three children and, slowly, to rediscovering her old self.
