Fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to Hollywood actor Christian Oliver on what has become his heartbreaking post.
Oliver tragically lost his life along with his two young daughters - Madita Klepser, 10, and Annik Klepser, 12 - in a plane crash off the coast of Bequia, a tiny Caribbean island.
Pilot Robert Sachs - who owned and was flying the single-engine plane - also died in the tragedy, which occurred on January 4.
The ill-fated flight was en route to the neighboring island nation of St. Lucia, NBC News reports.
Before the Coast Guard could arrive, local fishermen and divers reportedly rushed to the scene in an attempt to save the four individuals. Unfortunately, they were all pronounced dead after being recovered by the coast guard.
The bodies have been transported to a mortuary in St. Vincent, where post-mortem examinations will be conducted to officially determine the cause of death.
Oliver had recently completed filming for Forever Hold Your Peace and was in the Caribbean with his daughters, while his wife Jessica Klepser was in Los Angeles.
Now, Oliver's final social media post has surfaced - in which he shared a poignant and now-eerie message with fans.
Just three days before the tragic crash, the 51-year-old actor shared a heartwarming message on Instagram. Accompanied by a picture of a serene beach, he wrote: "Greetings from somewhere in paradise! To community and love … 2024 [here] we come," exuding happiness and optimism.
The text on the photo also read: "Let love rule. Wishing all of you the best for 2024" - a sentiment that has resonated deeply with fans who have flooded the post with tributes to the star and his family.
"My deepest sympathy to his wife on the unimaginable loss of Husband and two daughters. There are no words," one person wrote.
A former colleague of Oliver's added: "I have [known] Christian since 1997 when I cast him in Eat Your Heart Out. We have been friends since [...] he was such a shining light filled with such passion and promise. My heart breaks for his wife and family and I grieve his loss and the loss of his two beautiful daughters. Words alone will never fill the void left by their passing."
"I hope your heaven is now your paradise," wrote a third, while another fan typed: "So sad that this was the last thing he posted on his feed."
Oliver - originally hailing from Frankfurt, Germany - had established himself as a well-known actor with a prolific career spanning both film and television. He notably portrayed a detective in the enduring German TV series Alarm für Cobra 11 and boasted numerous other television and film credits.
He moved to the United States at the age of 21 to further pursue a career in acting and modeling. He quickly found success, landing roles in commercials and television shows like Saved by the Bell.
Most recently, Oliver graced the screen in the latest installment of the iconic Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Our thoughts go out to everybody affected by this tragedy.
