Heartbreaking final post of Justin Bieber's ex Sahara Ray before tragic death at 34
An Australian model and influencer who once dated Justin Bieber has tragically died at just 34 years old, and her heartbreaking final social media post has since circulated online.
According to the Daily Mail, Sahara Ray died following a suspected drug overdose on Sunday, October 18.
Ray's last social media post was a series of cute snaps of her daughter
The mom-of-one made her last Instagram post on July 19, sharing a carousel of photographs of her young daughter captioned: "My whole heart, baby Snow."
Although Ray had given birth to the baby in January, she did not announce its arrival to her followers until April, posting a video of the pair snuggled up captioned: “Baby Snow hallelujah”.
In a statement shared with TMZ on Monday, Ray’s family said: "She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital." While the family did not reveal the cause of her death, it has been reported elsewhere that she was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles following a suspected drug overdose, but was removed from life support on Sunday.
Despite her own successful modeling career, Ray really shot to fame in 2016 when she was rumored to be dating 'Baby' singer Justin Bieber after the pair were papped on vacation in Hawaii skinny dipping.
She was also romantically linked to singers Mod Sun and Chris Miles.
Ray's health had struggled for a few years before her death
Over the last few years, Ray had been living with serious health issues. She revealed in 2024 that she had been left partially paralyzed by an autoimmune disease called Guillain-Barré syndrome, which had been caused by a car accident.
Shortly after the devastating crash, Ray wrote on social media: "Right now I’m paralyzed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet. I can’t walk at all.
"This is really hard to deal with. I’ve been trying to keep a good attitude and be hopeful that my feeling comes back, but there’s always a chance it just stays like this."
Also, in 2021, Ray revealed that she had checked into a rehab center in Malibu as she was struggling with addiction. At the time, the founder of swimwear brand Sahara Ray Swim said: "I just checked into a mental health, wellness, drug and alcohol addiction treatment center retreat. It's really beautiful."
Ray’s parents, surfer Tony Ray and real estate agent Gretchen Bach, have since spoken out about the tragedy. Bach told the Daily Mail that her daughter "was an incredibly passionate and kind young woman who loved her family, fashion, her daughter Snow, and surfing."
Her A-list ex, Bieber, has not yet spoken out about Ray’s tragic death.
