In their latest public appearance, King of Pop Justin Bieber and his wife, model Hailey, have sparked concern among fans after photographs captured what looked like a tense, animated conversation between the couple at a star-studded wedding over the weekend.
The pop star, 32, and the Rhode beauty founder, 29, were among the high-profile guests attending the California nuptials of Billie Eilish’s brother, Finneas O’Connell, and his longtime partner Claudia Sulewski at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito.
However, paparazzi photos from a quiet moment away from the crowd appeared to capture an argument between the spouses.
In the pictures, a glamorous Hailey, who gave birth to the couple’s son Jack in 2024, was spotted waving her arms around passionately and pointing while having a heated conversation with her husband.
Justin, wearing sunglasses and remaining rather calm during the interaction, stood quietly before the pair parted ways and walked in opposite directions.
The dramatic picture of the couple about to celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary quickly sent social media users into a frenzy, with fans speculating whether the long-time couple was having a serious argument in front of fellow wedding guests.
Leading body language expert Judi James has spoken out to reveal the "truth" behind the awkward exchange.
Analysing the pictures, James noted that while the scene undeniably created an "impression of tension or drama," it does not necessarily mean the couple was involved in a direct fight with one another.
She explained: "The way that Hailey looks back at her husband gives that impression,” highlighting the physical cues that initially raised eyebrows online.
Picking apart Justin’s casual stance, the expert pointed out that the 'Sorry' singer had a "gently hunched posture" which made him appear cold and reserved.
The expert added: "The way his arms hang slightly in front of his torso makes him look less motivated and less positive here.”
Despite the stark difference in their physical energy, James pointed out that Hailey’s expressive hand movements were not necessarily aggressive or aimed specifically at her husband.
James revealed: “Hailey has been waving her arms and pointing, although not at him, so there is no signal of direct conflict.”
In fact, she suggested that rather than arguing with Justin, Hailey may have simply been recounting a dramatic story or expressing frustration about a completely unrelated scenario.
Just hours after the rumours went viral, Justin shared a series of affectionate behind-the-scenes selfies with Hailey from the wedding festivities on his Instagram, showing the couple smiling in an attempt to quash the rumours.
