Nick Jonas might be one of the biggest heartthrobs of the last two decades, but it turns out that life at home with him comes with a few surprising rules.
The Jonas Brothers star, 32, is known for his smooth vocals, stadium tours, and fairytale marriage to actress Priyanka Chopra. But during a recent appearance on the Are You Okay? social media series, Jonas gave fans an unexpected glimpse into his personal life, and it’s sparked a whole wave of debate online.
While the singer has always carried himself with a polished, almost effortless confidence on stage, his private quirks are something fans rarely get to see.
That’s why when host Bri Morales pressed him to share his so-called “beige flag” (a phrase used online to describe a partner’s odd but not deal-breaking habit) Jonas didn’t hold back. What he admitted has fans either laughing, shaking their heads, or claiming he just revealed the ultimate “green flag.”
The musician explained that while many couples turn their bedrooms into a hub for everything from late-night TV binges to breakfast in bed, he takes a very different approach.
In fact, Jonas has a hard-and-fast rule about his sleeping space that completely flips the idea of what a bedroom should be. And no, it’s not about snoring, sleep-talking, or a love of extra pillows.
“I think beds are for sleeping only,” Jonas confessed, finally letting the secret out. “Like, I don’t sit on the bed, I don’t eat on the bed, I don’t read a book in bed or watch TV. I can’t do it.” He went on to explain that the idea of the bed getting warm makes him uncomfortable, adding: “I run hot. It’s a whole thing.”
Even though the couple has a TV in the bedroom, Jonas said that if Chopra, 43, wants to watch something, he’ll literally pull up a chair and sit beside the bed instead of climbing in with her. Morales called the quirk “crazy,” and plenty of fans agreed.
One person commented: “Pulling up a chair while Priyanka is in bed watching TV together is crazyyyyyy to me lmao.”
Another added: “I guess it’s a good thing I never got the chance to marry Nick Jonas like I thought I would because PULLING UP A CHAIR NEXT TO THE BED would be such a deal breaker for me [...].”
Not everyone was horrified, though. A handful of fans admitted they could see where Jonas was coming from, with one joking that it only proved he was their soulmate.
Another suggested that the habit wasn’t a “beige flag” at all but actually a “green flag”; proof that Jonas knows exactly what works for him.
Bedroom quirks aside, Jonas and Chopra’s love story has continued to capture attention. The pair first crossed paths at the 2017 Met Gala, though Chopra later admitted she thought she’d been friend-zoned after arriving late.
The two continued texting for nearly a year before finally going on a “proper date,” and the rest is history. They went public in 2018, got engaged during a vacation in Greece that July, and tied the knot that December in an elaborate ceremony in India.
In 2022, the couple welcomed their daughter, Malti, via surrogate, fulfilling a dream they had spoken about for years. Since then, they’ve embraced family life while balancing careers in music, film, and television. From sharing Malti’s birthday milestones to documenting family trips on social media, the pair continue to show that their bond runs deeper than any quirky bedroom rule.
