Heartbreaking news has surfaced that Adam Harrison - the son of Pawn Stars frontman Rick Harrison - has tragically passed away at the young age of 39.
TMZ first reported on Friday (January 19) that a representative for the History Channel star disclosed the devastating news, revealing that the Harrison family had received the devastating news of Adam's passing.
The outlet adds that Harrison reportedly died from an overdose.
Details surrounding the circumstances of Adam's death - including when and where it occurred and the substance involved - remain unknown.
In a statement to TMZ, the Harrison family expressed their profound sorrow, saying: "Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss."
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department is said to be conducting an investigation into the case, though specific details have not been disclosed.
Pawn Stars, which first hit our screens back in 2009, follows the lives of the Harrison family as they evaluate the authenticity of items brought to their Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, distinguishing genuine artifacts from replicas.
At this time, there has been no response from representatives for A+E Networks, Rick Harrison, or the LVMPD regarding the tragic loss.
Notably, Adam Harrison had remained relatively private, not appearing on his father's Instagram account like other members of the family. TMZ reports that while he had previously been involved with the pawn shop, he had stepped away from the business and did not make any appearances on the television show.
Rick Harrison is a father to three sons: Adam and Corey, from his first marriage to Kim, and Jake, from his second marriage to Tracy.
Our thoughts are with Adam's family, friends, and loved ones at this time.
