Storage Wars star Brandi Passante sends urgent message to fans after Darrell Sheets' shock death at 67
Brandi Passante, star of Storage Wars, has shared an emotional message with fans following the tragic death of her co-star Darrell Sheets.
As widely reported, the reality star, who was known as The Gambler on the popular A&E series, passed away on April 22 from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Sheets' body, which was discovered around 2AM at his residence on Chandler Drive, was turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination.
Passante Shares Emotional Tribute Post
Passante took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute post, alongside throwback selfies of herself with her late co-star.
"I've known Darrell Sheets for many years," she penned in her post. "I'm just so very sorry, to hear the circumstances of his passing. My heart hurts for Brandon, Zoe, and Kimber."
The 45-year-old went on to reveal that she has "unfortunately lost a parent and a brother to similar situations," before using her platform to urge others who may be struggling to seek help
"I would like to say to everyone, if you are struggling, if you feel hopeless, or like no one cares. I assure you they do!! You are not alone. Please reach out for help," she continued.
"You are not taking your pain away, you are transferring it to someone else. The grief from suicide is endless. There is always help… You can dial 988 on your phone to connect with a counselor and resources. Never suffer in silence!" she added.
René Nezhoda Speaks Out About Cyberbullying
Passante's post comes after Rene Nezhoda revealed that Sheets had been relentlessly tormented online by a cyberbully before his tragic death.
In a video shared on Instagram, the 49-year-old said: "Darrell has been posting a lot about the guy that’s been cyberbullying him and tormenting him, and I really hope [law enforcement] look into that guy and it’s just not a pass."
Nezhoda, who shared a close bond with Sheets despite their on-screen rivalry, urged fans to recognize the hidden struggles of public figures
"Just because you watch us on television doesn’t mean you know us," he said. "It doesn’t mean you know what we’re about. If you have somebody in your life that thinks it’s funny to cyberbully other people… slap them in the back of the head. Make them become a better human being, because you never know what demons somebody faces and what they go through."
He also reflected on his friendship with Sheets, saying: "I know a lot of you guys think we hated each other because we competed a lot on the show, and, you know, we had our moments."
"We had our run-ins, but that’s because we were both competitors, right? Deep down, me and Darrell were friends. We talked every now and then," he continued. "He’s a very hard worker that cared more than anyone I’ve probably ever met about their family."
Sheets Revealed The Identity Of His Cyberbully
Nearly a month before his passing, Sheets publicly identified the person he believed was behind the harassment he had been receiving online.
In a post on his social media, he wrote: "Well people, here is my cyber bully stalker. He has been targeting other small businesses in town and using my name to harass them. This is not me."
He went on to explain, "He has extorted money from many people in this town, posing as a handyman. This has been going on for three years, and the things he says are incredibly damaging. This is a felony called cyberbullying."
The Lake Havasu City Police Department is currently investigating the cyberbullying that was linked to the case.
