Tom Parker has passed away at the age of 33 following his battle with brain cancer.

The tragic news was confirmed by his wife, Kelsey, who provided the following statement to The Sun:

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken.

"Tom was the center of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence."

The statement continued: "We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout. He fought until the very end."

Parker - who is perhaps best known to fans as being a part of the band The Wanted - was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor back in 2020, and revealed to fans that he had been given just 18 months to live.

The Sun reports that during his treatment, the singer underwent 30 radiotherapy sessions and several rounds of chemotherapy.

Parker first revealed the tragic news of his diagnosis back in October 2020, telling fans in an emotional Instagram post: "Hey guys, you know that we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it’s time to tell you why.

"There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment.

"We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way."

Tom continued: "We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way. We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options.

"It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support, we are going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey xxx"

Additionally, last week Parker informed his fans that he had written a book about his journey, telling fans: "My book, coming this July, is not about dying: It's a book about living. It's a book about finding hope in whatever situation you're dealt, and living your best life no matter what. It will show you how having faith in hope and daring to dream means you can carry on, against all odds."

As well as his wife Kelsey, Parker leaves behind his two children, two-year-old Aurelia and one-year-old Bodhi.

Our thoughts are with Parker's family, friends, and fans at this time.
