Over the last 24 hours, Russell Brand has been the subject of shocking allegations -- but what exactly has the comedian been accused of?

A joint investigation conducted by The Sunday Times and Channel 4's Dispatches revealed accusations against Brand including rape, sexual assault, and abusive behavior spanning the years from 2006 to 2013.

These incidents allegedly occurred during Brand's peak fame, a period when he served as a presenter for the BBC and Channel 4, and later transitioned to a high-profile Hollywood career.

Here, we look into exactly what Russell Brand has been accused of.

This article contains graphic details that some readers may find upsetting.

Raping a woman in his LA home in 2012

As per the reports, a woman using the pseudonym Nadia accused Brand of rape at his Los Angeles home in 2012. Although they had previously engaged in consensual sex, Nadia described Brand as having a "glazed over" look during the alleged rape.

Nadia claimed that Brand asked her to join him and a "friend" for a threesome in his bedroom, but when she refused, he allegedly raped her against a wall without using protection.

After the incident, Brand sent her a text apologizing for his behavior, stating that it was "crazy and selfish."

Alice, whose name has been changed to protect her identity, has claimed that she had a sexual relationship with Brand when she was just 16 years old.

Brand, who was 30 at the time, allegedly sent cars to collect Alice from her school for encounters at his home. She claimed that Brand became increasingly controlling during their relationship, instructing her to lie to family and friends and save his number under a false name.

She alleged that Brand removed a condom during sex without her knowledge and further described Brand's actions as characteristic of a groomer, although she wasn't aware of it at the time.

She recounted an incident where Brand forced his penis into her mouth to the point of suffocation, stating: "I ended up having to punch him really hard in the stomach to get him off. I was crying and he said, 'Oh, I only wanted to see your mascara run anyway'."

Sexually assaulting an ex-girlfriend

Russell Brand's former girlfriend, Jordan Martin, did not provide a statement to the journalists but shared allegations she made in a self-published book.

Martin detailed an alleged sexual assault at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester during their six-month relationship. In her book, she described Brand's aggressive behavior, including forcibly sliding his hand into her underwear.

She also recounted an incident where Brand made her brush her teeth until her gums bled so she would taste "anonymous" to him.

"There were times when I felt bullied and abused, not in a physical or sexual way, but mentally. I was vulnerable... His manipulative side was so powerful it was easier to just submit," Martin wrote.

Firing a woman after sexual assault

A woman referred to as Phoebe (a pseudonym) stated that she had a brief consensual relationship with Brand after they met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in 2013.

During their time together, Phoebe alleged that Brand trapped her in a room, pursued her while naked, and attempted to forcibly remove her clothing.

After the assault, Brand reportedly became "super angry" and shouted at her, ultimately firing her.

The investigation revealed that Brand made inappropriate comments to the notorious pedophile Jimmy Savile during a radio show in 2007.

Savile, who died in 2011, faced over 450 allegations of sexual abuse against children.

Savile declared that he would meet Brand if the comedian brought his sister, to which Brand responded that he didn't have a sister, but would bring his assistant naked to the meeting.

"I've got a personal assistant, and part of her job description is that anyone I demand she greet, meet, massages, she has to do it. She's very attractive, Jimmy," he said.

Flashing junior staff

Brand's former personal assistant from 2006 to 2007 alleged that he showed intimate pictures of women to friends.

The assistant, Helen Berger, claimed Brand instructed her to find women from audiences at shows he hosted for sexual encounters.

She also mentioned that Brand frequently wore only underwear around her and had an "active sex addiction."

A production runner working on Big Brother's Efourum stated that Brand exposed himself to her on set and implied inappropriate actions.

She described her shock at the incident, choosing not to report it to avoid losing her job. Subsequently, she engaged in consensual sexual activity with Brand, who insisted on keeping it a secret.

She later expressed feeling groomed for sex, with Brand taking advantage of his position.

It is important to note that, at this time, Brand has denied all of the allegations that were made against him and has claimed that all of his sexual relationships have been consensual. Watch Brand's video below:

During the video, Brand said: "I've received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email. One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like my community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn't be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel."

The comedian questioned whether the allegations against him were targeted attacks as he often questions the motives of the mainstream media.
