A heroic pizza delivery man has saved two children and three teenagers from a fiery blaze in Indiana.

Driver Nicholas Bostic put his food delivery on hold when he saw a house on fire in the city of Lafayette on July 11.

With little concern for his own safety, the brave 25-year-old ran into the burning building and pulled the five inhabitants out.

Speaking to ABC7 Chicago, Bostic explained that he couldn't call 911 for help because he didn't have his phone on him. Instead, he entered the house through the back door and ran upstairs.

There, he found the four siblings (aged 18, 13, 6, and 1) and a 13-year-old friend who was staying at the house for a sleepover. Bostic quickly rushed them all outside. Unfortunately, he didn't realize until he'd left the property that another six-year-old girl was still inside.

Even though there was thick smoke filling the house, the heroic delivery man ran back inside, found the child, then punched through a window so they could both escape.

When emergency services eventually arrived on the scene, Bostic was taken to the hospital to have a cut on his arm seen to. Luckily, his injuries were not too severe, and he has since been discharged.

Reflecting on his brave actions, Bostic said: "I’m glad I was there at the right time, the right place. If [the] opportunity came again and I had to do it, I would do it."

"I knew what I was risking. I knew the next second it could be my life. But every second counted," he added.

The delivery man went on to reveal that the kids' father had offered to reward him for his heroism.

"The dad said he’d love to take me out for dinner. They have wide-open arms welcoming me as a part of their family," he told the outlet.

According to Lafayette Police Lt. Randy Sherer, all of the children Bostic rescued from the blaze are also doing well. In a statement, the police department released a statement confirming his heroic actions.

"Nicholas happened to be driving by the block of Union street when he noticed a house on fire. He immediately stopped in the roadway, threw his car into reverse, turned around and pulled into the driveway," the statement described.

"He knew he had to act. He ran around to the back of the home and was able to open the back door. He began yelling inside [but] didn’t receive an answer. He walked through the house, calling out the danger, and eventually made his way up the stairs. He found four kids and helped them escape from the house," it added.
