A 16-year-old high school student tragically passed away just 24 hours after being diagnosed with leukemia.
As per his official obituary, Kyle Limper died at around 11 PM on April 13 after succumbing to a blood infection caused by cancer which was diagnosed just hours earlier.
"Before April 13th, he was a completely healthy and happy young man with no sign of illness," the statement read. "It just came and took him in the same day.
"He passed peacefully and was surrounded by supporting and loving people," it added.
Kyle was a high school football player for Kensington, where he also wrestled, and ran track.
In the future, he wanted to continue on his sporty path, aspiring to become a college football athlete as well as a wrestling champion. According to his family, during this time, he also maintained straight As and made the honor roll many times as well as having perfect attendance.
Speaking to Fox 29, his father, Ken Limper, said that he originally brought his son to urgent care after he was complaining of back pains due to playing basketball.
The pair headed to Jefferson Hospital where they were sent home and told to come back if the pain persisted.
"They told me in a couple of days, if he doesn’t get better, to bring him back. Well, in a couple of days he couldn’t even stand up," the heartbroken father recalled. "He couldn’t even get out of bed and I had to help him up and stand him up, then he fell right back down on the bed."
When the problem continued to get worse, the concerned dad called an ambulance and rushed Kyle to St. Christopher's Hospital.
"It was just like it was just a nightmare," said Ken. "It was just like every time we came back into the room, it was just getting worse and getting worse."
Within 24 hours, Kyle passed away.
"I wouldn’t wish this feeling or the situation on anyone. It's indescribable," said Kyle's mom, Jodi. "I can't, I can’t even put into words how I’m feeling."
Now the family has set up a GoFundMe page in order to help raise funds to lay their late son to rest, and they also had a piece of advice for everyone on behalf of Kyle.
"Just live good for him, you know. That's all he wanted was to have everybody have a good life. That's what he was striving to do," said Ken.
The fundraiser has managed to secure over $14,000 so far, just over halfway to their $25,000 goal.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Kyle's family during this difficult time.
