Tiffany Gomas, the woman behind the viral 'not real' plane meltdown has spoken out to reveal what exactly caused her to have such an outburst.

Gomas went viral in July after footage circulated of her standing up inside a plane, declaring that another passenger on board was "not real".

The 38-year-old had been on board the flight departing from Dallas Fort Worth and heading for Florida, and was soon identified as Gomas.

In the footage, Gomas is seen yelling: "I’m telling you, I’m getting the f**k off and there’s a reason why I’m getting the f**k off and everyone can either believe it or they can not believe it. I don't give two f**ks, but I am telling you right now - that motherf**ker back there is not real."

Gomas maintained her silence on the outburst for several months, leading many to speculate what she'd claimed to see on the plane - be it a ghost, alien, or just a figment of her imagination.

She has finally spoken out to explain what exactly happened, as she discussed the incident on the Pardon My Take podcast this week.

"The reason I probably haven’t come out yet is that it’s so cringe," she admitted.

Gomas revealed that the expletive-laden outburst came about after she had a "little bit of an altercation" with another passenger that "spiraled out of control."

She admitted: "It was not my best moment … it was actually a horrible moment. Absolutely mortifying. How horribly mortifying."

While many had suspected Gomas was hallucinating or believed she'd seen something otherworldly at the back of the plane, the reality is actually pretty underwhelming.

"I literally did not see anything … It was an expression of speech," she admitted, addressing her comment that the passenger was "not real".

She added: "They’re making me look bat s**t … and given, I did, I did look absolutely crazy but, no — I was in my feels, needed to get that off that, I was highly distressed. Not a good look."

Gomas also refused to go into detail about what the initial argument was over, but said it was partly down to her having given up her aisle seat, adding: "As you heard me saying, I’m only 5'2", in my little bratty-a** voice."

She continued: "There was really bad energy and I don’t want to get into all the details in all of that … as you know, it’s ongoing."

Gomas acknowledged that it would in fact have been "way cooler" if she had seen something unexplainable on the plane.

She revealed that she laid low and didn't leave her house for a month after the meltdown, but maintained that she was justified in causing the scene which delayed the flight for several hours.

"I was distressed and I was getting off the plane, no matter what, I just probably didn’t need to make the scene that I made," she previously admitted.

Gomas's comments had worried other passengers as she'd also said: "You can sit on this plane and you can f**king die with them or not. I’m not going to."

She then refused to leave the boarding area, assaulted a bystander in the terminal, swore at police, and repeated her warning that the flight wouldn't make it to Florida without elaborating why, according to reports.

Police bodycam footage showed that officers believed Gomas was either drunk or on drugs, but was never tested for public intoxication and was only verbally cited for criminal trespassing.

She later issued an apology for her behavior, which was shared by TMZ, but did not reveal any further details on what had caused it at the time.
