A police chief in Tennessee has been fired in the wake of a sex scandal that rocked the La Vergne police department after it came to light that he knew what was happening but failed to act on it.

Patrol officer Meagan Hall of the La Vergne Police Department and four other officers were dismissed following an investigation into alleged incidents of sexual relations happening between herself and at least six other police officers both in and outside of work, per the Daily Mail.

During the investigation into the matter, officers Juan Lugo-Perez, Lewis Powell, detective Seneca Shields, and Sgt. Henry Ty McGowan admitted to the allegations.

Police records of interviews carried out in the investigation were obtained by WSMV4, where Hall opened up about the scandal which included details of a "girls gone wild" party, strip UNO, and a hot tub party.

Hall admitted to sleeping with six of her colleagues, including having oral sex with Sgt. Lewis Powell in a substation of La Vergne police department.

She also revealed that she slept with Officer Patrick Magliocco a number of times, including engaging in a threesome that included his wife.

As reported by NBC News, it has come to light that Police Chief Burrel "Chip" Davis was aware of the scandal during the investigation and failed to discipline the officers involved. He had since been fired from his position.

In a statement, as cited by NBC, the city said: "The conclusion also states that Davis impeded the initial investigation into sexual misconduct, 'contrary to City policy and permitted — if not encouraged — conduct potentially contrary to state and federal law."

The NBC affiliate WSMV of Nashville reported that Hall filed an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaint with the state where she claimed that Chief Davis created an environment where this kind of behavior was actively encouraged.

Although being dismissed due to his knowledge of the sex scandal, Davis has not been accused of sexual misconduct and after news of the incidents broke, he stated: "The actions of a few do not represent the department as a whole."

Patrol and K-9 Officer Larry Holladay, Patrol Officer Patrick Magliocco, and Patrol Officer Gavin Schoeberl were suspended for their alleged sexual encounters with Hall.

Hall allegedly kept her sexual relationships secret from her husband, who reportedly intended to remain with his wife in a bid to salvage their marriage.

In the aftermath of the scandal, Hall was offered $10,000 to perform two shows at Deja Vu Nashville strip club but it is unknown whether she accepted the offer.

Following concerns after the La Vergne police department was significantly downsized as officers were suspended, Police Chief Burrell Davis put local minds at ease.

He said: "We have sufficient staff to cover all of our patrol shifts and I have full confidence in our officers' ability to protect and serve. We are working diligently to rebuild the trust of our citizens and our community.

"We understand this will take time and diligence from our command staff and officers to repair the honor and integrity of our department."
