Newly released police video shows Russell Brand's response as he's confronted with rape allegations
A newly released police video shows Russell Brand's alarming response after he was confronted with graphic rape allegations.
The video emerged after the 51-year-old comedian was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault at London's Southwark Crown Court on Thursday (November 5).
Following a four-week trial, he was found not guilty on two other counts of rape and one of attempted indecent assault, as a judge told the former radio presenter to expect a "significant custodial term".
Brand, who denied the allegations against him, maintained that his sexual encounters were consensual.
Justice Bennathan said: "My current view is that I therefore have to remand you into custody," with Brand set to be sentenced on Monday.
Russell Brand's response to rape allegations
The newly released police footage, obtained by Page Six, shows the Get Him to the Greek star sitting almost motionless as police read out a woman’s detailed account of being sexually assaulted.
The interview took place in July 2025, more than a year before he was convicted.
Brand, who was wearing an army green jacket over a white V-neck shirt, can be seen sitting across from the detectives at a table in an interrogation room.
During questioning, a Metropolitan Police investigator described how the woman alleged that Brand had removed his condom before raping her at his home.
"The condom that he had been wearing had been removed at some point before the anal rape and was now on the floor," the investigator said. "Mr. Brand then told her to clean up the mess on the bed and he left the room."
According to the woman's account, another man then entered the room and told her she needed to leave because Brand had another show to perform that evening.
She then alleged that she was driven to the Hampstead tube station by the same driver who had brought her to Brand’s home.
After reading the allegations, the investigator asked Brand: "What is your response to this allegation?"
He simply replied: "I have nothing further to add at this time."
Throughout the exchange, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor appeared expressionless despite the graphic claims.
The interview was among a collection of images and documents released by London’s Metropolitan Police following Brand’s conviction.
The files included several old pictures of a young Brand performing at the Soapbox Cabaret, a political comedy show held in Bournemouth, England, in 1999.
Investigators also released a hand-drawn map of the MTV and Viacom offices, marking the locations of the bathrooms, elevators, and entrances.
Other materials included a picture of a building at 2 Great Titchfield St. in London, dated 2012, and another photograph labeled "RB 2004".
Russell Brand faces further rape investigations after a guilty verdict
Brand's legal troubles are not over as the Metropolitan Police confirmed the disgraced stand-up comedian is now being investigated over further rape allegations made by two women.
He has already been questioned by officers about the complaints, as the Met Police said the investigation "remains ongoing".
"The suspect has previously been interviewed under caution in connection with the allegations," they added in a statement.
