Actor Alexander Westwood, best known for starring in Sex Education, has been accused of sexual offenses against children and women.

The 24-year-old actor appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court after being charged with 26 sexual offenses, Daily Mail reported.

The actor's alleged crimes include four counts of rape of a woman over 16, according to The Mirror.

Other charges he faces include three counts of causing a female 13 or over to engage in a non-penetrative sexual activity and one count of inciting a boy under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

He has also been charged with seven counts of sexual assault on a female and three counts of causing a child under 13 to watch a sexual act.

In addition to this, Westwood, who also gave acting classes, is being accused of forcing young actresses to recite Shakespeare and engage in role-play naked.

Prosecutor Andrew Wallace told the jury that Westwood, from Albrighton, east Shropshire, is not only an actor but a "supreme manipulator"

"All these charges have a common theme, of inappropriate touching and predatory behavior," he said, cited by Metro. "The ten indictments concerning a girl, the first charge is on the date of his tenth birthday, that is the date because there is not criminality before this age."

Wallace said that if they were to "list every instance" of the alleged abuse Westwood inflicted on his victim "there would be hundreds of charges".

"Then when giving acting lessons, he again used this as an opportunity to touch his pupils inappropriately," the prosecutor continued, adding: "These are schoolgirls we are talking about, teenagers. Imagine asking Dame Judi Dench to recite Hamlet naked, she would tell you where to go."

One alleged victim bravely spoke out about her traumatic experience in court.

She emotionally said: "I did not realize it at the time but I was a victim of domestic abuse. He would get very angry and hold me down by my wrists, I would have to bite him just to get away from him," per Express and Star.

"He would ask me for sex and when I said no would carry on. I would tell him I did not want to because I was not happy, but he would just ignore me," she continued. "He would get angry and throw things."

"He would regularly pin me down by my wrists so I could not move. I would have to bite him to get him off me. He would lie, lie, and lie. He told my mother I needed to be in a psychiatric hospital," she added.

Westwood has denied all charges made against him and has alleged that the victims have several motivations to falsely accuse him.

The actor's other credits include starring in BBC's Doctors, the action movie Outlawed, the thriller Angel City, and the Short Leaper.

The trial is expected to last a month.
