Tributes are flooding in for a British daredevil who tragically died after falling from Spain's highest bridge.

As previously reported, the incident occurred on the morning of October 13, at the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, which stands 630 feet tall in Talavera de la Reina, about 90 minutes southwest of Madrid.

According to local authorities, the man was attempting to climb the bridge, despite strict prohibitions on accessing the structure.

"The area is off-limits," confirmed a source to the Daily Mail.

A spokesperson for Spain's National Police stated that the man fell from a height of approximately 40 to 50 meters, about a quarter of the bridge’s full height.

The influencer has now been named as 26-year-old Lewis Stevenson.

Stevenson was reportedly attempting to scale the 192-meter (630-foot) structure without safety equipment, as part of a stunt video intended for social media.

His family had previously pleaded with him not to undertake such risky challenges, per the Daily Mail.

Stevenson had gained a following on Instagram, where he posted daring feats, including hanging off skyscrapers in New York and London.

He was accompanied by a 24-year-old companion, who survived the incident.

The tragic fall was witnessed by a passing motorist, who immediately raised the alarm.

Authorities arrived to find the surviving companion in a state of shock.

A source told The Sun that the survivor was "unable to speak at the time" and remained visibly shaken.

However, the source added that he is not facing criminal charges. "It’s up to the local town hall to decide if he’ll face any penalties for doing something illegal," the source explained.

Investigators are also considering whether recent heavy rains may have contributed to the accident by making the bridge’s surfaces more slippery.

In the wake of his death, tributes have begun to pour in from family and friends. Stevenson's grandfather, Clifford Stevenson, expressed the family's grief and recalled their efforts to dissuade him from taking such risks.

"We all tried to talk him out of it," Clifford told the Daily Mail. "We were always trying to talk him out of doing things, but that was the way he was... He loved doing it... He did not get any money for it, he was an adventurer."

Fellow thrill-seekers and friends also took to social media to pay their respects.

Louie_W1, a fellow "rooftopping" enthusiast, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, cited by the Daily Mail.

He said: "Knowing you has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. And losing you is the greatest sadness of my life. No amount of words on a stupid Instagram post will ever describe how much I miss you."

Louie described Stevenson as the "bravest, most caring, and funny person" he had ever known, adding: "I'm proud of every building, every rooftop, every moment of our time together. My best friend, my brother. Rest easy, we'll meet again one day."

Another friend, Vil1iany, reflected on Stevenson’s influence on his life: "In the past seven years you introduced me to a new understanding of freedom, which changed my perspective on life massively... I'm forever thankful for the opportunities you gave me and the people you introduced me to.

"You've been a prominent figure to me for a while, and your fearless mentality will stick with me for the rest of my life," he continued, adding, "Rest easy now brother, I'll see you in another life."

Our thoughts are with Stevenson's loved ones at this time.
