Emilie Kiser has released a statement in response to recent footage circulating of her toddler son, who was seen on a boat without a life jacket.
The US influencer tragically lost her three-year-old son, Trigg, after a drowning incident in the family’s backyard pool at the home she shares with her husband, Brady Kiser, and their son Teddy.
Looking back at the incident, she previously admitted that it was “a preventable drowning accident,” urging other parents to take water safety seriously.
Kiser, who has 5.2 million followers on TikTok and 2.1 million more on Instagram, posts about fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and family content for fans.
But over a year on from the untimely death of their eldest son, the Kisers announced that they are expecting another child.
However, the parents have come under fire once again after footage of their son Teddy sitting on a boat made the rounds on social media.
Teddy, just 16 months old, was seen sitting with his dad on a boat in a video, alongside influencer Madi Curtis while she and Emilie traveled to Mallorca in June.
It was Madi who posted clips from the day, which have since been deleted, as one of the clips revealed that Teddy was sitting on a boat without a life jacket on.
Social media viewers were quick to question why Emilie and Brady did not take further measures with their son near the water, despite him not swimming.
Many criticized the parents, after they have advocated so passionately for water safety precautions.
Emilie took to Instagram Stories to address the controversy, writing: “Our child should have been in his life jacket for the entirety of that boat ride, not even for the few moments that he was out of it.
"We are painfully aware that in a matter of seconds, your entire life can change, and we should have done better.
“We recognize and appreciate the genuine care that people have for our children,” Emilie went on.
“There has also been a deep level of anger and hurt directed toward our family, and we understand the basis of those feelings as well,” she admitted.
“It comes from the belief that Trigg should still be here, and we share that same belief more than can be expressed. He was only three years old, and should have lived a lifetime more. That reality lives with us every moment of every single day.”
She concluded the post, writing: “We will continue to do better, advocate for better and, as hard as we try to avoid them, still make mistakes.
“We can only promise that we will never stop learning from them and continue loving our children with everything we have.”

TikTok influencer, Emilie Kiser has spoken candidly about her grief nearly 10 months after the tragic loss of her three-year-old son, Trigg, while also urging other parents to take water safety seriously.
Kiser, who has established a following of 5.1 million on TikTok and two million followers on Instagram, provides fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and familial content to her adoring fans.
On Wednesday, March 18, the influencer shared emotional reflections on her Instagram Stories about the accident that happened last spring.

Reflecting on her child’s tragic death, Emilie described it as “a preventable drowning accident.”

TikTok influencer Emilie Kiser is living through every parent’s nightmare after her three-year-old son, Trigg, died following a tragic drowning incident earlier this month.
On May 12, Chandler Police were called to the 26-year-old’s home in Arizona, roughly 25 miles from Phoenix, after reports of a possible drowning.
Officers arrived to find Trigg had fallen into the family’s pool. He suffered multiple injuries before being pulled out of the water.
CPR was performed immediately, and paramedics transported the toddler first to Chandler Regional Hospital, then by air to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he tragically died six days later, on May 18.
Kiser’s legal team released a public statement as part of a new lawsuit filed on May 27 against Maricopa County public offices.
The statement (via Rolling Stone) described the death as a “heartbreaking accidental drowning” and shared a glimpse into the influencer’s overwhelming grief.
"Emilie is going through a parent’s worst nightmare right now," the lawsuit states. "She lost her young son."
It continued: "Emilie is trying her best to be there for her surviving son, two-month-old Theodore. But every day is a battle."
The couple—Kiser and her husband Brady Chapman—welcomed baby Theodore, nicknamed Teddy, just this past March.
The lawsuit also reveals Kiser's request to stop the release of any further details surrounding Trigg’s death, calling it a “profound invasion of privacy.”
NBC News reports that the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner responded by stating it "worked with the family to place a seal on the record" once they learned that "the family was pursuing a court order to prevent the release of these records."
Chandler Police issued a statement acknowledging the tragedy, stating per NBC10 Philadelphia: "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the child's family and loved ones during this unimaginable time.
"The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident remains ongoing. This is still an open investigation.
"Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not be releasing additional details until the investigation is closed."
Trigg frequently appeared in Kiser’s videos, which focus on parenting, lifestyle, and family life. The family has built a following of 3.3 million TikTok fans since she began posting.

Kiser, who built a following of 3.3 million fans with her relatable content on parenting and family life, recently suffered a devastating loss.

Now, Kiser has filed a lawsuit against multiple Maricopa County public offices in an attempt to keep the details of his death out of the public eye.
Kiser, 26, filed a lawsuit on May 27, seeking to prevent the release of records related to her son’s death.

Maricopa County responded swiftly. Jason Berry, director of communications, told NBC News: “When Maricopa County learned the family was pursuing a court order to prevent the release of these records, the Office of the Medical Examiner worked with the family to place a seal on the record.”

Influencer Emilie Kiser has revealed that she and her husband are expecting another baby together, a year after losing their three-year-old son.
As previously reported, Emilie's three-year-old son, Trigg, died after falling into the family's backyard pool on May 12, 2025.
Emilie, 27, was not at home at the time of the accident, while her husband, Brady Kiser, was caring for Teddy.
Tragically, the toddler died in hospital six days later, on May 18.
According to the Chandler Police Department, Brady initially reported losing sight of Trigg for three to five minutes before finding him in the pool.
Police later said video evidence showed the child had been unsupervised in the backyard for more than nine minutes and in the water for about seven minutes.
As well as their late son Trigg, Emilie and Brady are also parents to one-year-old son Teddy, and announced on Friday that they are expecting their third child.
Emilie shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of her cradling her growing bump, as she told her followers: "We are so grateful and excited to share that we will be welcoming another baby into our family.
"This news feels very surreal and has already been such a bright light to us during some of our darkest days."
She added: "As I stated last year, my family’s privacy will always be my priority. Because of that, I’m not sure how much I will be sharing about this pregnancy and next phase of life, but I appreciate your understanding as I navigate those boundaries.
"This baby has already brought so much hope and joy into our home, and we are treasuring every moment of it together.
"Thank you in advance for all of the love, well wishes, and support as we navigate this next chapter of our growing family. Love you guys."
The happy news comes after Emilie revealed that she'd forgiven her husband over the tragic loss of Trigg.
Emilie revealed on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast: "This could have just as easily happened to me. This could have just as easily been me in Brady’s position.
"Brady was taking care of our newborn child. When I left for dinner that night, he was de-thawing my breast milk, trying to get Teddy settled, a five-week-old baby. That doesn’t excuse anything. It doesn’t excuse what happened.
"But taking that accountability, along with all the other things I know I could have changed, gave me so much true, deep, real, raw empathy for him of, this could have been me."
She also revealed that the couple went on to work with medical professionals to help them process the trauma of losing their son in such tragic circumstances.
Emilie has also shared several posts advocating for more awareness of the dangers of drowning for young children, saying on TikTok: "This is a topic that I will continue to talk about when I feel comfortable, because it is so extremely hard to talk about, and I hope that people can understand that.
"Our son's death was very preventable. It was an accident, but it was a preventable accident. I will always take full accountability for that, because as a parent, it is your job to protect your child."
She also highlighted the dangers drowning poses to young children, adding: "Drowning is the number one cause of death in children three and under. And that is an extremely hard statistic to swallow because I truly just can't believe how much it happens."
She urged parents to take extra precautions around pools and other bodies of water.
"I really hope that if you see this video, you please, please, please install a pool fence. Make sure you have door alarms. Make sure if you have door alarms, all of your batteries are updated. Please make sure that you watch your children around water."
