Mom of two, Malia Nummerdor, has made a bold claim following her arrest after being accused of performing a sex act on her family's dog by her husband.
The Florida native was arrested and charged after her husband reported the alleged crime to police, having taken to Facebook to make the claims against her.
Erik Nummerdor has claimed to have photo and video evidence of the incident, having told investigators that he had secretly installed two security cameras in the family's home.
Malia, 38, was arrested on September 15 and couldn't explain what she was doing with the dog, believed to be named Ranger.
The mom said she had no sexual contact with the animal, claiming she was petting it, though officers said that her answers were often contradictory.
But in response to backlash from the public, Malia's friends have launched a controversial fundraiser.
Malia's friends have taken drastic measures, setting up a fundraiser on SupportNow to raise $30,000 for the mom and her sons.
They explain in the description that Erik reported her alleged crimes as an act of vengeance, explaining that Malia and her children are 'facing a situation they never imagined'.
"Their lives have been turned upside down following a painful and difficult situation involving Malia’s estranged husband and allegations against her that she maintains are untrue," it reads.
It is further explained: "While the legal process takes its course, the immediate reality is that Malia and her boys have all been deeply affected.
"They have been displaced from their home, their normal routines have been disrupted, and Malia is now facing significant legal costs while trying to navigate an incredibly uncertain time."
The friends explain that the mom grew up as an only child after losing both of her parents quite young, and that she has needed the support of friends in tough times like this.
"She is surrounded by close friends, most of whom she has known for decades, who care deeply about her and are doing everything they can to support her and her family through this situation," it reads.
The fundraiser adds: "Malia is facing serious allegations, and she needs experienced legal representation to ensure that she has the opportunity to fully address them through the proper legal process.
"This situation has also deeply affected her two young sons, who deserve privacy, stability, and as much normalcy as possible while the adults involved work through what comes next."
Malia's friends say that funds raised will help her with legal expenses and immediate living needs amidst the ongoing case.
"This fundraiser is not asking anyone to decide the facts of the case," they explain, adding: "It is about helping a mother and her children get through an extraordinarily difficult period and making sure Malia has access to appropriate legal representation.
"Our hope is simply to give Malia one less thing to carry right now and remind her and her boys that they are not facing this alone."
The Florida mom alleged that Erik installed the cameras without her knowledge and accessed her social media accounts to post images and videos.
She claimed the recordings were made in 2024 and that Erik had previously threatened her with the same videos.
Erik claimed that he was trying to find out who was stealing money from a coin jar, and instead found a disturbing video of his wife with the dog when reviewing the footage.
Pictures of the family dog have also been posted on Facebook.
