Newly-elected House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has had her Twitter account temporarily suspended.

As reported by CNN, Twitter suspended Greene's account for 12 hours on Sunday (January 17), after she repeatedly violated the platform's new rules that were put in place following the deadly US Capitol riot earlier this month.

A Twitter spokesperson told both CNN and NBC News: "The account referenced has been temporarily locked out for multiple violations of our civic integrity policy."

CNN states that Greene had tweeted a series of conspiracy-laden posts earlier on Sunday regarding the Georgia Senate elections. Additionally, Reuters reported that the congresswoman got into a debate with a Georgia election official.

Some of the tweets were quickly flagged and accompanied with the message: "This claim about election fraud is disputed, and this Tweet can't be replied to, Retweeted, or liked due to a risk of violence."

The tweets have since been deleted.

Greene recently hit headlines after she declared that she plans on filing articles of impeachment against Joe Biden on his first day as President of the United States.

And taking to Twitter over the weekend, the congresswoman repeated this "I’ll be introducing Articles of Impeachment against President-elect @JoeBiden due to his abuses of power as Vice President.

"Americans can’t have a President who has threatened foreign governments to remove government officials. #ImpeachBiden".

When asked by NBC Atlanta anchor Jeff Hullinger why she planned on filing the impeachment articles, Greene replied: "The whole reason why I ran for congress is because I got fed up and really tired of the corruption that we see constantly out of Washington.

"The American people work hard every single day, paying their taxes, dotting the Is, crossing the Ts, and then we just get completely thrown under the bus constantly.

"Corruption should not exist - I don't care what name of the party is on it or in front of it."

She added: "We need to hold people accountable," before going on the claim that Joe Biden and his family are "involved in giant scams with energy companies across the world - and that's a dangerous place to be for the president of the United States."

Per the Daily Mail, Greene first announced her impeachment plans in an interview with Newsmax, which she later shared with her 244,000 followers on Twitter.

In the interview in question, the Georgia Republican and staunch Trump supporter made specific references to the investigation of the President-Elect's son Hunter Biden, stating:

"We cannot have a president of the United States that is willing to abuse the power of the office of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, foreign Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies.

"So, on January 21, I will be filing articles of impeachment on Joe Biden."

She continued: "I'm a big believer in having people in office that are actually willing to do the job, and I can imagine people in this country being so fearful of a future of a Biden presidency that they may be willing to commit violence like they did in the Capitol here in Washington."

However, Greene was quick to add: "We cannot have that, I do not condone that violence. The American people need to know there are Republicans in Congress that are willing to stand up and fight for them regardless of being in the minority, regardless of having odds against us."

On Twitter, Green captioned the footage of her video: "On January 21st, I’m filing Articles of Impeachment on President-elect @JoeBiden. 75 million Americans are fed up with inaction. It’s time to take a stand. I’m proud to be the voice of Republican voters who have been ignored."

Hunter Biden, a former investment advisor, is currently under investigation over his tax affairs, according to the BBC.
