A heartbreaking detail about Bank of America VP's final days before she was tragically stabbed to death in Times Square has come to light.
As widely reported, 32-year-old Erin Piacenti was fatally stabbed by 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros after Cisneros had already stabbed 68-year-old Tak Kam near West 41st Street and Seventh Avenue.
Police subsequently confronted the suspect, who was carrying two kitchen knives.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Cisneros told officers: "I’m not dropping anything; I would rather kill both of you. I will kill you."
Authorities said officers twice tried to stop her with tasers before fatally shooting her as she continued toward them.
Cisneros and the two victims were rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where Piacenti died from her injuries. Kam was later reported to be in stable condition.
As details about Piacenti's life emerged after the tragedy, it was revealed that the young mother had recently returned to work after five months of maternity leave.
Just four days before her death, Piacenti reportedly posted a picture showing her smiling with her husband, Frank, and their infant daughter, the Economic Times reported.
She wrote about how grateful she was for the five months she had spent caring for her child and mentioned the baby's recent baptism.
The family had also enjoyed trips to Long Beach, New Jersey, Maine, and Rhode Island.
Piacenti and Frank had recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary after graduating together from Fordham Law School in 2021 and even purchased a home in Chester.
The late woman's grandmother remembered her as a "beautiful, beautiful girl," according to The New York Times.
Before earning her law degree from Fordham, Piacenti attended the University of Pennsylvania.
Her career included a legal internship with Major League Baseball and work involving mergers and acquisitions at Morgan Stanley and the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell.
She joined Bank of America in 2025 and worked as a vice president in the company's business selection and conflicts unit.
Bank of America paid tribute to Piacenti following her death.
"We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague," the bank said, per BBC News. "She was a valued teammate who will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to her family and all of her loved ones."
Following the attack, social media posts attributed to Cisneros surfaced in which she had written about people being stabbed "for no reason".
In a religion-focused Facebook post dated November 30, 2025, she referred to the "diminished [sic] love of people to the point of stabbing others for no reason."
"You can read it for yourself in the Holy Bible that warns about the end times," she penned.
Cisneros also wrote about people hearing voices telling them to harm themselves or others.
"The enemy of our souls, Satan, knows that his ending is near and would like to take as many souls to hell as possible.
"This is the reason that some people hear voices to either kill someone or themselves or tell people lies such as you have sinned too much to be accepted by Christ and enter the kingdom of God."
In contrast, she had shared a post in 2020 that read: "Always be kind to strangers. You never know what someone is going through."
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani revealed that the NYPD will conduct an internal investigation and that body-worn camera footage will be released to the public.
