White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has left fans stunned after she unveiled her latest family photo.

Leavitt, 28, shared a series of sweet snaps of her and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 59, posing with their 16-month-old son, Niko, as the family took in the White House's Halloween festivities last week.

In the photos, Niko was seen wearing a pumpkin costume before meeting President Donald Trump and enjoying petting goats and hurtling down a slide with his mom.

However, it was a family photo of Leavitt, Riccio, and their son that had fans talking as some accused Leavitt of Photoshopping her husband's face after getting comments about their 31-year age gap.

One of her followers wrote: "Karoline, Awesome picture but my friends noticed something: The guy on the left seems to have only his face photoshopped. His hands look like 60+ years old. What happened?"

Others added: "Man that smoothing filter on her old man’s forehead working overtime," and: "Smooth face, wrinkled hands. Photoshop or Botox?"

Another commented: "Old man hands blow your cover up Karoline. Your husbands face does not match his hands."

Leavitt has not publicly responded to the comments or confirmed whether the images had been edited or not before they were posted to her Instagram feed.

Leavitt, who married Riccio in 2024, first met him in 2022 during her congressional campaign in New Hampshire.

“A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,” Leavitt shared during a February 2025 appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show. “I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends.”

Riccio is a successful real estate entrepreneur from New Hampshire, who built a multimillion-dollar property empire with more than 15 rental properties in Hampton Beach.

Before meeting his wife, he faced significant financial struggles, including experiencing homelessness in his youth, but his persistence led him to become a successful businessman.

In her interview with Megyn Kelly, Leavitt acknowledged her initial hesitation about the age difference between them. "Yes, of course," she said. "I mean, it’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible. He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend, and he’s my rock."

She added that he supported her in pursuing her own political and professional dreams, revealing: "He’s built a very successful business himself, so now he's fully supportive of me building my success in my career."

Leavitt also praised Riccio for his parenting, adding: "He’s the father of my child, and he’s the best dad I could ever ask for.

"I say, ‘I walked into your life and it’s been a circus ever since,’ but God bless him because he’s fully on board.”

And while Leavitt's role is largely in front of the cameras, she tries to maintain as much privacy in her personal life as possible, saying per Yahoo: "I respect his privacy,” noting that Riccio is an introvert who avoids social media. "He’s my number one fan, the best dad, and just the best man I’ve ever met."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has spoken about her 32-year age gap with her husband, just days after President Trump praised her during a televised interview.

Leavitt, 27, became the youngest press secretary in U.S. history after Trump appointed her to the role during his second term.

She married Nicholas Riccio, a 59-year-old millionaire real estate developer, in January, just before Trump’s second inauguration.

In a recent appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Leavitt addressed public curiosity about her “atypical” relationship.

“He is my greatest supporter, he's my best friend and he's my rock,” she said of Riccio. “He's built a very successful business himself, so now he's fully supportive of me building my success in my career.”

The couple met during Leavitt’s 2022 congressional run in New Hampshire, which she lost to Democrat Chris Pappas.

While she admitted to hesitating over the age gap initially, Leavitt said the relationship has been nothing but rewarding.

Leavitt and Riccio got engaged over Christmas 2023 and welcomed their son, Nicholas Robert “Niko” Riccio, in July 2024.

“My heart has grown bigger than I ever imagined possible,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Babies are the ultimate blessing, and I’m bursting with gratitude for our beautiful, happy, healthy boy.”

Just days after giving birth, Leavitt returned to work on Trump’s campaign following the July 13 assassination attempt on the president.

“I looked at my husband and said, ‘Looks like I’m going back to work,’” she told The Conservateur in October.

Despite maintaining privacy around her personal life, Leavitt’s public profile continues to grow, in part thanks to her boss's now-viral comments.

During a Newsmax interview on August 1, Trump lavished Leavitt with compliments after she declared he deserved a Nobel Peace Prize. “She’s a great person, actually,” Trump said. “But she’s - I don’t think anybody has ever had a better press secretary than Karoline. She’s been amazing.”

Then came the remarks that sparked widespread backlash: “It’s that face. It’s that brain. It’s those lips, the way they move. They move like she’s a machine gun.”

Reactions were swift and polarized. “Ewwwwwwwwwwww. Why are we speaking about women like this?” one user posted.

Others called the remarks “cringe” and “deeply inappropriate,” while some defended the statement as a metaphor for Leavitt’s rapid-fire press briefings. “She’s a star,” Trump added. “She’s become a star.”

Leavitt has not responded to the comments directly. Her focus appears to remain on her family and her work.

“It’s true when they say there’s nothing comparable to the love you feel for your child,” she wrote after Niko’s birth. “I’m bursting with gratitude.”

The youngest person to ever hold the role of White House Press Secretary, Leavitt marked her birthday by heading back to her home state of New Hampshire for a family-filled getaway.

She posted a series of snaps showing how she spent the day - soaking up the sun at the beach with her husband, 59-year-old Nicholas Riccio, and their one-year-old son, Nicholas "Niko" Robert.

In one of the first images, Leavitt is seen smiling as she holds little Niko, who sported a crab-themed swimsuit. The Press Secretary wore a breezy white crochet cover-up with long sleeves.

Another photo captured a full family moment.

Leavitt posed with her husband, who is 32 years her senior, while holding their son.

She also shared two birthday cards she received, one each from her husband and her son.

Niko’s card featured cheerful ice cream cones and read: "Mom, you're the coolest." Her husband’s card showed two sloths cuddling on a log with the words: "Happy birthday to my wife... my other half."

Leavitt gave followers even more insight through her Instagram Stories, which included behind-the-scenes footage from the day.

She showed off a bouquet of pink flowers, posed for pics with friends, and posted a clip of herself riding a motorized scooter along the beach.

The birthday festivities wrapped up with a family dinner in Boston’s North End, a neighborhood known for its Italian cuisine.

To cap things off, she posted the inside of Niko’s birthday card, where he had scribbled: "I love you!"

Leavitt’s birthday comes on the heels of a more personal revelation she shared earlier this year - opening up about her relationship with Riccio, whom she married in 2024.

The couple, who got engaged on Christmas Day in 2023, have a 32-year age gap—something Leavitt addressed publicly during a sit-down with Megyn Kelly.

“Leaving the baby every day to go to work, it does break your heart,” she shared. “It's incredibly challenging emotionally, physically, spiritually.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt says the biggest challenge of dating a man more than 30 years her senior happened long before their relationship became public.

The 28-year-old recalled the moment she had to tell her parents that her future husband was closer in age to them than to her.

“It’s definitely a challenging conversation to have at first,” she said on Miranda Devine’s Pod Force One.

A Partner Older Than Her Parent

Leavitt’s husband, New Hampshire real estate investor Nicholas Riccio, was born in 1965 – making him roughly five years older than her mother and five years younger than her father.

Riccio, now 60, runs Riccio Enterprises, a company overseeing multiple beachfront properties along Hampton Beach.

The couple began dating in 2022, when Leavitt was 25 and running for Congress, PEOPLE details.

She admitted the age gap initially jolted her family, though the discomfort didn’t last.

“Once they got to know him and saw who he is as a man and his character and how much he adores me, I think it became quite easy for them, and now we’re all friends,” she said.

A Relationship Formed During Leavitt’s Political Rise

The relationship evolved as Leavitt’s own career accelerated.

Appointed by President Donald Trump, she made history as the youngest White House press secretary. She says the pressures of the role strengthened their bond rather than strained it.

The pair married in January 2025, just two days before Trump’s second inauguration.

Their son, Niko, was born in July 2024.

“It’s a typical family relationship, and my husband has such respect for my parents in the way that they raised me,” she said. “We all have a lot of fun together when they come to visit.”

She described it as “a very atypical love story” during an interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, adding that Riccio had been “incredible” from the start.

Riccio grew up in Hudson, New Hampshire, one of four siblings. After high school, he attended Plymouth State University and faced stretches of financial struggle, he told the Sunday Herald in 2005.

A real estate course after college set him on the career track that later defined his life. Today he owns more than 15 buildings in the Hampton Beach area, many of them rented out to families during the vacation season.
