But recently, even images of the Kardashian /Jenner infants have caused controversy - possibly making them one of the only families in the world who can put out an insanely cute picture of a baby and receive outrage in return. Controversy is a skill it seems, and this family has the expertise to go the distance.

Weirdly enough, today's drama sees a repeat episode of an outrage that went down a few weeks ago. At the end of last month, Khloe Kardashian was slammed by her followers when it was revealed she had pierced two-month-old baby True's ears, a move that many people described as "irresponsible" and "shocking".

Now, her sister Kylie has followed suit. On Wednesday, the 20-year-old posted a heartwarming clip of her kissing Stormi as the young'un grabbed her hair. In the video, the proud mother can be heard saying: "Here's my little lady. Look at my little lady."

However, rather than marvelling at how adorable Stormi was, eagle-eyed fans soon clocked that the little one was wearing studs and immediately began criticising the young mother for piercing her five-month-old child's ears.

"As if kylie Jenner’s already got her babies ears pierced," wrote Twitter user @alexxlockhart. "I’m not even saying it cruel (it is) and that they don’t consent to it. It just looks ugly on a baby and once you see them you can’t unsee them, not cute". Fellow user @lilacbeagle joined her in attacking Kylie, writing "Why would you when they’re so young????"

However, the young mother was not without her supporters. Her fans soon flocked to defend her, with Twitter user @artschoolsucks claiming that Stormi would not even remember the experience, stating: "why are ppl slating kylie jenner for having stormi's ear pierced ??? i had my ears pierced before i turned one bc when ur a baby it's less painful and the child won't remember the pain, like sis it's not that deep".
