A Texas man has been accused of holding a woman captive in a locked trailer for four years, according to court records.

Following the successful rescue of the 32-year-old woman by deputies, Abraham Bravo Segura, 42, was arrested on Wednesday night. He had been detained at a Harris County Jail facility with a $150,000 bond.

During a court appearance on Thursday, the prosecution explained the charges against Segura, per CNN affiliate KTRK.

"The defendant had kept the complainant inside a trailer for approximately four years," the prosecutor said.

The complaint states that the defendant allegedly restrained his victim by "secreting and holding" her in a place where she was "not likely to be found," according to ABC News.

According to KTRK, after several years of being held captive, the woman was able to call for help from a phone inside the trailer while Segura was at work. She told Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies that she was unable to escape. She accused her alleged captor of holding her at gunpoint and threatening to end her life.

Once they arrived at the scene, deputies discovered that all exits in the trailer were locked and burglar bars were on the windows, per court records.

The fire department was forced to utilize power tools in order to cut through bars on the windows of the trailer to save the victim on Wednesday when bolt cutters failed to work on the padlock.

During a bond hearing on Thursday, Segura did his best to defend himself, referring to the story as "one-sided". Court officials said that probable cause was already found for bond and that they would not argue the facts of the case during the hearing.

If Segura is able to post bond, the conditions of release state that he be held on house arrest and that he does not contact the unnamed woman or her relatives.

He is set to be arraigned on Monday.

A friend of Segura has spoken out to defend the man after news of the case emerged.

"That's not fair to put a charge on him. He's innocent, he's innocent," his friend Auseilsaul Contreras said, per ABC13. "I don't know what they're trying to put charges."

Contreras, who does not reside in the trailer park, said he made his way over to Greenspoint so that he could defend his friend. Contreras claims the woman and Segura had been in a relationship for years, and he saw the pair just weeks ago.

"I (saw) them together. They came to our house sometime when we had parties and everything. They were good. I don't know what they're saying," Contreras said.

The long-time friend of the defendant is convinced that the charges will be dropped when his friend goes to court.

"I saw the lady a month and a half ago, and when I saw her, everything was OK," Contreras said.

Speaking to ABC13, other residents in the mobile home park said they would only see the man leaving his trailer - and that they rarely saw the victim.

The woman's driver's license was registered to the address of the trailer in question.

According to police, three firearms were in plain view inside the home.
