The body of a missing Missouri doctor has been found, just days after he proposed to his fiancée.

Dr. John Forsyth, a 49-year-old ER doctor, was reported missing on May 21 after failing to turn up to his 7:00PM shift at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, Fox News reports.

The father-of-eight had worked at the hospital for 15 years and had never missed a day of work or been late, according to his brother, Richard Forsyth.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Richard described his brother's disappearance as " an immediate red flag", adding: "He wouldn’t miss a shift even if his eyeballs were hanging out of their sockets. He's punctual in the extreme."

His family had even set up a Facebook page dedicated to finding Forsyth, with his sister Tiffany writing: "My brother has now been missing for week. I'm grieving, I'm afraid, and it feels like the world has tipped into sheer chaos."

"Now he's disappeared, seemingly into thin air," she added. "We have so much more to talk about. I'm so afraid he's just gone. Please don't let this be how this ends. The hole that will leave in my life will be empty forever. Please help us find him."

Sadly, it has been revealed that Dr. Forsyth's body was found in northwest Arkansas by authorities on Tuesday (May 30).

Richard has since revealed that the family is "in shock" and that he believes "foul play" had something to do with his brother's death.

Police have now revealed more details regarding the last time Forsyth was seen and heard from, revealing that he had been messaging his new fiancée at around 7:00AM on the day of his disappearance.

Cassville Police Det. Stuart Lombard told Fox that he had heartbreakingly told his fiancée that he would be seeing her "a little bit later", before his messages suddenly stopped.

Following the recent finalization of his divorce, Forsyth had proposed to his partner just three days before he disappeared. His brother adds that an uncontested divorce settlement issued on May 11 stated that Forsyth was ordered to pay his ex-wife $19,000 a month in alimony and child support.

Lombard added that surveillance cameras captured Forsyth walking to his luxury RV that was parked in the hospital parking lot. He would often use the motorhome to rest between shifts.

Authorities later discovered Forsyth's Infiniti approximately 700 feet from the Cassville Aquatic Center entrance near a yard waste site. A ground and canine search of the surrounding 90-acre park followed, with police finding nothing.

His brother says Forsyth's wallet, two phones, keys, and passport were found inside the Infiniti. Richard said it was "very uncharacteristic" of his brother to leave such items in an unlocked RV.

Forsyth had also planned a trip to see family in Idaho and Utah the day after he went missing.

Anyone with information regarding Forsyth's death is urged to contact the Cassville Police Department at 417-847-4700 or 417-847-4911.

Our thoughts go out to Forsyth's family and friends at this time.
