Conspiracy theories have started to swirl after Donald Trump was spotted giving a mysterious hand signal to people off stage at an event in Florida.
Sure, the Secret Service must have all sorts of secret signs and signals, and there was an alleged assassination attempt made on the President last week, but - seriously - what is going on here?
Trump was speaking at an event in Florida at a retirement community called The Villages.
He was supposed to be on task talking about the effects of his Big Beautiful Bill and social security, but when it comes to The Donald, things never go that way, do they?
Instead, he started going on about a recent cognitive test that he took - and apparently aced - and spent quite a bit of time getting into the nature of the questions.
You can test your own knowledge against the President in another article we've written here, by the way.
He also went off on a ramble about... well, basically everyone else who he thinks wouldn't have done so spectacularly well on such a test - the usual suspects.
However, the moment that captured the eyes of internet conspiracy theorists happened as he left the stage, when he made a seemingly innocuous gesture towards his Secret Service agents standing by.
Or was it?
The simple flick of the hand as he cleared the stage was responded to by the staffer, who then made another hand signal through the curtains, presumably to another member of staff.
Then, at the end of a strangely slowed-down video, a hand can be seen reaching out of the curtain seemingly to grab the other agent.
So, what the hell is going on here?
The simple answer is, we don't actually know.
That's perhaps why it has grasped the attention of the online sleuthing community.
One such major account, Matt Wallace, sparked the storm.
He wrote: "Did anyone else catch that signal?"
"That hand coming out of nowhere is so creepy," responded one person.
"You can never know with these people, many secrets with them," another wrote.
A third said: "Seems mysterious. Look at their expressions."
Of course, the reality is probably much simpler - and the comments reflect that - it's probably a fairly standard gesture to indicate that the President is clearing one area and moving to another, where there are presumably other people to pick him up.
One comment read: "Just a Secret Service agent or stagehand holding the curtain and signaling 'clear' as Trump walks by.
"These events have layers of security backstage—nothing mysterious, just pros doing their job.
"But the conspiracy edits always go viral anyway."
"Secret Service agent holding the curtain and giving the 'all clear' signal. These events have 47 layers of backstage security not every hand wave is [an] Illuminati bat signal," said another.
Still, the fact that nobody really knows what this is all about is what drives the mystery - we'll never know exactly what was intended, and - unless you are a Secret Service employee - you probably won't ever get to learn about the full secret meanings of everything that they do.
Maybe there's a really good reason for that.
