A brand new docuseries promises to "expose the truth" about the Duggar family from 19 Kids and Counting.

As reported by CNN, the Duggar Family - consisting of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their 19 children - shot to fame as part of the wholesome TLC reality TV series 19 Kids and Counting.

Now, Amazon Prime's upcoming docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, promises to shine a whole new light on the once beloved TV family. 19 Kids and Counting ran for 29 over 10 seasons, but came to an end in 2015 after allegations surfaced that eldest son Josh Duggar had sexually abused members of the family.

The family would star in the spin-off show, Counting On, without Josh Duggar from 2015-2021.

In a new trailer for the series, Jill Duggar - the family's second daughter - can be seen sitting alongside her husband, Derick Dillard.

She says: "There’s a story that’s going to be told and I would rather be the one telling it."

Check out the trailer below:

Although Josh Duggar was never charged for the allegations brought against him, he was later found guilty of a receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography in 2021.

He is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence.

The description for the trailer reads: "Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets is a limited docuseries exposing the truth beneath the wholesome Americana surface of reality tv’s favorite mega-family, The Duggars, and the radical organization behind them: The Institute in Basic Life Principles.

"As details of the family and their scandals unfold, we realize they’re part of an insidious, much-larger threat already in motion, with democracy itself in peril."

CNN reports that the Duggar family became known for their strict family values - which many people believed to be incredibly outdated - such as the teaching of modest dress for women and girls, no use of birth control, and family-supervised courtships prior to marriage.

Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets premieres June 2 on Prime Video.
