Teacher who had '3 hour sex marathon' with student, 17, sent him 'gas money' for disturbing reason - chilling texts have emerged
A teacher who was convicted of having sex with a 17-year-old student allegedly went as far as sending him “gas money” for one particularly disturbing reason while their illegal relationship was taking place.
McKenna Kindred, who was married at the time, became the subject of a police investigation after authorities uncovered her sexual relationship with the Central Valley High School student in Washington state.
Chilling reason 'gas money' was sent to student
The pair allegedly exchanged explicit messages, photographs, and videos before eventually having sex at Kindred's home while her husband was away on a hunting trip, but investigators also learned about a series of payments that had initially left the teenager's mother suspicious.
The student's mother, Ashley Beckley, told police she remembered her son receiving “gas money through Venmo” from a teacher.
Although Beckley described the payment as “kind of inappropriate”, she said she did not initially know which teacher had sent the money or why.
It was only after investigators began examining Kindred's relationship with her son that the payment allegedly took on a more disturbing significance.
The relationship had reportedly begun after the teenager discovered Kindred's Instagram account, before their interactions subsequently escalated into a sexually explicit context, and then they allegedly had sex at her home for around three-and-a-half hours while her husband was away hunting.
Afterwards, the teenager sent her a message which read: “Mom glad I can satisfy you.”
Kindred reportedly liked the message, before the student then asked whether she had used a sex toy while thinking about him.
“I did,” she replied.
“U should have video it and save it,” the teenager responded. Kindred allegedly replied: “Hm next time I need to relearn Snapchat haha.”
The messages were later uncovered as concerns about the relationship began circulating at the school, and after several months of speculation, the rumors about the pair's relationship were reportedly spreading among students and staff.
Friends of the teenager shared screenshots of the messages with another teacher, who then contacted Spokane Valley police, with investigators reportedly discovering messages suggesting the pair had engaged in sexual behavior on school property.
One message allegedly read: “We almost got caught.”
“I was sad when that student walked in when he did. I wanted you to hold me. I really like being touched by you,” another message read.
A friend who had become suspicious of the relationship reportedly confronted the teenager, telling him: “Mrs. Kindred and you must be f**king because you are always in her room.”
Mother revealed details about affair
Beckley subsequently provided investigators with further evidence she had allegedly discovered, telling authorities that she had seen photographs Kindred had sent to her son showing her breasts, as well as an explicit video of the teenager that he had sent to Kindred.
She also told investigators that she was aware of the messages concerning the sex toy.
Kindred was arrested and pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual misconduct in March 2024, but avoided a prison sentence and was instead given two years of probation, fined $700 and ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
Three months after pleading guilty, Kindred and her husband reportedly moved to Kuna, Idaho, with Kindred voluntarily surrendering her teaching license following an investigation by the Idaho Standards Commission.
