Trump issues serious threat to Iran if they continue to do this one thing
Donald Trump has made a significant threat to Iran, claiming he will completely destroy the world’s largest gasfield if they keep doing one particular thing.
Given the evidence of the past few weeks, you wouldn’t bet against him keeping that promise.
Donald Trump started Operation Epic Fury in Iran several weeks ago
Donald Trump has quite literally been on the warpath for a while now.
He’s sent a mission into Venezuela to capture President Nicolás Maduro, threatened to take over Cuba and Greenland, but most significantly he has been bombing Iran.
While the US and Iran have not seen eye to eye for a long time, not everyone expected him to start a full military campaign against the Middle Eastern country in this fashion until he did it.
Now, he’s making big threats if Iran doesn’t do what he says.
In fact, he’s making some chilling threats to completely destroy key targets in the country.
The site is an ‘extremely important and valuable site’ to the Iranian economy, and Donald Trump says he will ‘massively blow up’ the South Pars gasfield if Iran doesn’t stop attacking targets in Qatar.
Israel has already targeted the site, which has been seen as a significant escalation of the conflict and a threat to international energy concerns.
Iran has responded with new attacks on neighboring countries, attacking Qatari facilities, prompting anger from Trump.
As the prices of oil and gas soar, he wants a stop to it all.
Donald Trump isn’t happy with either Israel or Iran on this front
Trump wrote on social media that the US ‘knew nothing’ of the attack by Israel, although other reports suggested that the President was aware.
In the aftermath, targets in Qatar and Abu Dhabi were attacked, with the world’s largest liquefied natural gas hub at Ras Laffan suffering ‘extensive damage’ according to Qatari state energy company QatarEnergy.
The strike on South Pars was the first attack on the shared Qatar/Iran gasfield since the US/Israel-led conflict started, and Qatar was ‘in no way, shape, or form, involved with it [the attack], nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen’, Trump said.
As for the threat to the Iranian government, Trump added: “The United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before.”
A spokesperson for Qatar said that the Israeli attack was ‘dangerous’ and ‘irresponsible’
Despite Trump claiming that the war will be over ‘very soon’, it doesn’t seem like many solutions are forthcoming.
Particularly if there are threats to completely decimate gasfields being thrown around - regardless of what provocation might be happening.
