Just when you thought 2025 couldn’t get any wilder, Japan’s very own prophet of doom has issued a terrifying new warning — and it’s got people seriously on edge.
Ryo Tatsuki, a 70-year-old former manga artist turned accidental oracle, has sparked panic with a disturbing new prediction.

Often dubbed Japan’s answer to Baba Vanga — the legendary blind Bulgarian mystic — Tatsuki claims her visions come to her in vivid dreams, which she’s been recording since the early 1980s.
Ryo Tatsuki's Latest Prediction
In her latest vision, Tatsuki says she saw the ocean “boiling” south of Japan, a chilling image that believers say foretells a massive undersea volcanic eruption — one capable of unleashing a tsunami of devastating proportions.
The projected impact zone? A diamond-shaped swath covering Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
What's more, she believes this catastrophic mega-tsunami will strike in July 2025.

As if that imagery isn’t nightmare fuel enough, she also described “dragon-like shapes” moving toward the area, possibly near Hawaii.
Her supporters say these visuals match strange patterns observed near coastal regions in the past, with many now fearing the worst as summer approaches.
Tatsuki’s eerie track record is what makes people take notice. She published her now cult-favorite manga, The Future I Saw, back in 1999—a book based entirely on her dreams. Over time, fans began noticing the unsettling accuracy of her illustrated predictions.
Among the disasters she reportedly foresaw: the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991, the devastating Kobe earthquake in 1995 that killed 6,500 people, and Japan’s catastrophic 2011 tsunami that left nearly 20,000 dead.
And yes — believers also say she nailed the 2020 pandemic. In her writings, Tatsuki allegedly predicted: "In 25 years, an unknown virus will come in 2020, will disappear after peaking in April, and appear again 10 years later."
...which probably means I should cancel that 2030 Disney trip I have booked.
She even noted the phrase “Diana? Died?” in her diary on August 31, 1992. Exactly five years later to the day, Princess Diana was killed in a car crash.
Despite the hype, experts are urging people not to panic. According to Times Now World, while “there is no scientific basis for Tatsuki’s claims,” seismologists agree that “the location she describes isn’t far-fetched from a geological standpoint.” Japan does sit on the Pacific Ring of Fire and is home to the Nankai Trough — an area known to be capable of generating powerful earthquakes and tsunamis.

Tatsuki herself retired in 2020, a date she previously described as her “own funeral” — a cryptic reference many now believe symbolized the end of her public life rather than her death, Medium reports.
Her sudden reemergence with this summer’s grim prophecy has reignited debates over real-world risks and the unsettling power of prediction. And while some might chalk it all up to coincidence or poetic license, others are stocking up on supplies and marking their calendars for July.
Because when the woman who may have seen the pandemic, tsunamis, and Princess Diana’s death tells you the ocean’s about to boil — you at least pay attention.
Who Is Baba Vanga?
For those unfamiliar with Baba Vanga’s history, she was born in 1911 and lived in Rupite, a remote mountainous village in Bulgaria.
Despite being blind from early childhood and only semi-literate, she gained a reputation as a prophet, attracting Eastern European and Soviet leaders who sought her guidance.
Her followers meticulously recorded her prophecies, compiling them into books that continue to fuel speculation about future events. She is said to have accurately predicted the date of her own passing, alongside the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Princess Diana's death, and even Brexit.
She died in 1996 at the age of 84, but people still look to her predictions each year... and that includes 2025.
Yes, it could be bad news for Europe this year as she may have foreseen a dire future for the continent in 2025, warning of war and widespread devastation, per the Metro.
She reportedly stated: "In the spring, a war in the East will begin and there will be a third World War. A war in the East that will destroy the West."

Additionally, she predicted that Vladamir Putin would become "lord of the world", with Europe transforming into a "wasteland".
According to her foresight: "Russia will not only survive, it will dominate the world".
So, if you were planning on traveling Europe this year... it may be worth holding off to see if her prediction comes true.
