Any video gamer out there worth their salt will tell you that sometimes it's just impossible to quit playing. Maybe you've racked up a high score and are in the perfect mental state.

Maybe pausing or saving your game simply isn't an option. Or maybe the game itself is so addictive that you just can't stop yourself. There are loads of reasons why putting down the controller can take all your willpower.

There are plenty of passengers out there that appear to be out to ruin flying for everybody. Case in point...

This week, a commuter traveling through Portland International Airport proved it, when he was spotted hijacking an airport monitor used to display flight info so he could play videogames on it instead.

The gamer in question was spotted in the airport by traveller and mechanical engineer Stefan Dietz, who snapped a pic of the man and uploaded it to Twitter, accompanied by the caption: "This guy has his video game plugged into one of the airport monitors. Seen yesterday at @flypdx."

The monitor typically displays a map of the airport, but at 4:30 AM (when things were a little less busy) the unknown man decided to plug in his PlayStation 4 to play the popular battle royale game Apex Legends.

Responses on Twitter have been... mixed, to say the least:

In a later interview with KXL News on Thursday morning, Port of Portland spokesperson Kama Simonds stated: "That is obviously something that we don’t want to have happened because travelers need the information that we are putting on the screens for them."

She added that Operations supervisors approached the gamer, "and very kindly asked this person to unplug and cease using the monitors at the airport. Apparently it was a very polite and cordial interaction."

Sadly, we've no word on whether or not he managed to finish playing. I think that guy needs to buy himself a Nintendo Switch; they're a lot more portable.
