A woman has discovered that she is pregnant just hours after her 23-year-old husband was killed in a tragic accident.
Jonathan Rodriguez lost his life after one of his two young sons climbed into his truck and pulled a faulty gear shift, as reported by the Mirror.
This caused the vehicle to quickly roll down a slope and hit both Jonathon and the boy's grandmother in Utah.
The father of two was sadly declared dead at the scene while his mother, Sonia, was airlifted to the hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.
Heartbreakingly, the day after Jonathon's tragic death, his widow Daisy Rodriguez was rushed to hospital where she was informed that she is pregnant.
A GoFundMe page has been set up in order to support Jonathan's family with medical bills, funeral costs, and their upcoming child and it reveals further details about the tragedy.
It reads: " On May 6th 2023 a devastating accident occurred in the home of my sister Daisy Rodriguez. My sister along with her husband and his family were fixing up their backyard, when tragedy struck. While working on the yard, a truck that was parked next to the house rolled backwards towards the yard.
"My sisters husband Jonathan Rodriguez along side his mother Sonia Rodriguez tried to stop the vehicle from continuing to roll down the yard that sits on a slope. But unfortunately their efforts cost them to be crushed by the truck. Paramedics arrived and tried to resuscitate Jonathan, but he was pronounced dead at the scene."
The heartbreaking fundraising page continues: "Jonathan was 23 years young with a full life of dreams and goals ahead of him. Those that knew Jonathan know that he was a great husband and an amazing father to his two boys.
"He worked hard to provide his family the beautiful life they had. His life was drastically cut short leaving behind his wife and his kids ages 3,5. His own family has also suffered the loss of a son and a brother while awaiting news of his mother."
The page also gave updates on Sonia's well-being, and she is now able to talk to her family and has said that they can grieve together when she is fully recovered.
She had to undergo surgery, as she "had a cat scan and an MRI, and there are over five or more broken bones or fractures on the lower half of her body."
The GoFundMe page states that Jonathon's final gift to his wife Daisy was their upcoming child.
The family has thanked well-wishers for their support during this incredibly difficult time, as people have flooded the comments with heartfelt messages.
The page has received over $22,000 at the time of writing from an intended target of $25,000.
