A woman has shared her warning to the police before her father killed a mother and daughter.

Jennifer Petelczyc, 59, and her daughter 18-year-old Gretl were both murdered by Mark James Bombara in a horrific incident that took place in Perth, Australia, on Friday afternoon.

The mother-daughter duo was attacked in their Floreat home, in the city's west, after the 63-year-old killer had been searching for his ex-wife, who was said to be a good friend of Petelczyc's.

Bombara's ex had left him weeks prior and was reportedly staying at the Petelczyc's residence but was not there when the irate killer turned up at the home that afternoon.

As per The West Australian, Bombara tied both women up with cable ties before shooting them and turning the gun on himself.

The Daily Mail reported that Petelczyc and Bombara both died at the Berkeley Crescent residence while the teenager was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital where she died on Saturday morning.

In the wake of the tragedy, Bombara's daughter, Ariel has spoken out after warning the police several times about her father.

In a lengthy statement, she revealed that she spoke with authorities three times between March 30 and April 2, after she and her mother fled the family home on March 28 in fear.

"I'd like to start by saying how truly, deeply sorry I am to Liesl Petelczyc for the losses of her beautiful mother, Jenny, and sister, Gretl; losses she has suffered at the hands of my father's violence," the devested daughter said in her statement.

"My mother and I fled our family home on March 28 in fear of our lives and to remove ourselves from an abusive situation."

She then revealed that she had spoken with the authorities about her father's behavior, as well as the weapons he kept concealed in their home.

"Between March 30th and April 2nd, I spoke with police on three separate occasions to raise the alarm about my father. On each occasion I alerted officers to my father's guns, and told them my mother and I felt there was a real and imminent threat to our lives," she explained, before going into detail about a specific "Glock handgun" which later became the weapon used to kill both Petelczyc and her daughter.

"My understanding is this ultimately would be one of the weapons my father used take the lives of two innocent women. I also asked the police if we would be able to take out a 72 hour temporary protective order.

"We were told no, and that there was nothing police could do about the situation at that time," Ariel continued in the statement.

It was reported by the outlet that Bombara owned 11 guns under a recreational shooter's permit and two pistols under a collector's license, one of which was used to kill his victims.

The third occasion Ariel and her mother warned the authorities of their father was when they received a "police escort" back to their home to collect their belongings.

"One officer said, 'Oh don't worry, we know all about the guns', and when he called for backup, he warned his fellow officers to wear bulletproof vests," she revealed before adding: "We were ignored by five different male officers across three occasions of reporting."

Ariel then stated that by this time, she had lost faith in police intervention and instead, focused on getting her mother to safety.

"I did everything I could to protect my mother, and when my father couldn't find us he murdered her best friend and her best friend's daughter.

The heartbroken daughter revealed that while laws may be put into place to try and control gun violence, she believed that her father would have still managed to commit "a horrific act of violence which likely would have claimed lives."

Speaking of the gun laws in relation to Bombara, Police Minister Paul Papalia said: "This individual, sadly, was a fit and proper person, right up until the time he committed that act and he was a law-abiding firearms owner right up until he wasn't."

He continued: "Under the current law that's what happens and that's why we want to make the laws tougher."

Our thoughts are with the Petelczyc's loved ones during this difficult time.
