Lip reader 'exposes' Tom Cruise's 11-word remark to Taylor Swift during Chiefs game
Taylor Swift's return to the Kansas City Chiefs stands has already got fans talking, but it was her unexpected conversation with Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise that really caught people's attention.
The 36-year-old singer was spotted alongside the 64-year-old Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise in an Arrowhead Stadium suite on Monday as the Chiefs kicked off their 2026 season.
Lip reader reveals what was said between the pair
The pair appeared to be deep in conversation as they watched the action, leaving fans wondering what exactly they were discussing.
Now, professional lip reader Nicola Hickling has offered her interpretation of the exchange.
Speaking to the Irish Star, Hickling claimed Swift could be seen saying: "It's the structure of the entire infrastructure of the audience that's what I love in a positive way...so."
According to Hickling, some of Cruise's opening words were difficult to make out, but she believes the actor then appeared to make a rather direct observation.
“You may not know it, but you do have a job,” Cruise allegedly said.
Swift then appeared to put down her drink and respond with a simple “right” while nodding. Hickling claims Cruise then continued: “I told her to stick to one and that it's the last time.”
Swift was again seen nodding in response, according to the lip reader's interpretation.
Whatever the pair were discussing, Swift appeared to be thoroughly enjoying herself as she watched the Chiefs, with the pop superstar opting for a red-and-white checked shirt as she settled into the stadium suite with a drink in hand.
Swift's Chiefs appearance came on the same night she featured in the Emmy Awards broadcast, despite not attending the ceremony in person, as the singer appeared in a sketch which also included her beloved cat.
Swift makes first appearance at a Chiefs' game since marrying Kelce
The singer was in attendance to watch her husband, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, with the pair tying the knot in a lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden in the summer.
The secrecy surrounding the ceremony meant guests were allegedly asked to sign non-disclosure agreements, while details about the exact arrangements were kept under wraps, with no official pictures of the day being released.
Kelce later reflected on the occasion during an episode of his New Heights podcast, saying, “It was a fun offseason, man.”
“Wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everyone who came out and celebrated, and, you know, had fun with us.”
Guests were reportedly instructed to arrive in New York City on July 2 and July 3 without being given all the details about what had been planned.
