A long-lost Italian village has remerged after over 70 years underwater.
Curon, in the province of South Tyrol, was submerged in 1950 when a dam and a merge were built by authorities so that hydroelectric power could be established in the area.
However, it resulted in 160 homes being submerged under what became Lake Resia, which over the years has transformed into a popular hiking spot for tourists.
The church spire sits in the middle of the lake, and in the winter when it freezes over, people have been able to walk out over to it.
Now, for the first time in decades, the remains of the village have been uncovered, as the lake had to be temporarily drained for repair works.
Resident Luisa Azzolini decided to film what she saw on May 16, giving people a glimpse of a village that has been lost to the world for over 70 years.
She said: "All the houses were destroyed, except for the church tower that is always visible."
In her footage, locals can be seen exploring the ruins of the village, which contains structures that date as far back as the 14th century, as per The Times.

Azzolini added in a different post: "At Lake Resia, the remains of the ancient houses of Curon have resurfaced, the town that existed before the construction of the dam in 1950.
"Normally it is completely submerged by the waters of Lake Resia, but at this time for maintenance reasons, they have semi-dried the lake. A piece of South Tyrolean history."
The village has been such a source of interest that it's even inspired a Netflix series, Curon, which dropped on the streaming service last year.
A synopsis for the first season of the supernatural drama reads: "Seventeen years after the tragic events that forced her to leave Curon, a woman returns home with her twin children.
"They soon discover that the town is cursed: when you hear the bells of the old church tower ringing, repressed feelings come back to the surface."
