A woman was hospitalized after drinking coffee from an airport vending machine.
The 21-year-old, who works for an airline company, bought a drink from a vending machine in the Son Sant Joan airport, located near the capital city of Palma, Majorca.
As she began drinking, she noticed the hot beverage had a rancid taste, and on further inspection, she reportedly saw a swarm of insects floating around in the cup, as reported by Ultima Hora.
A horror picture shared on social media appears to show at least seven small black bugs stuck to the inside of the orange and white cup.
The traumatic incident - which took place on Monday (April 22) - caused the woman to go into anaphylactic shock.
Her face swelled up and her throat closed, leaving her struggling to breathe. She also developed severe swelling on her skin.
Airport workers reportedly treated her with an adrenaline shot and other drugs, before rushing her to a hospital where the woman spent 36 hours in the intensive care unit before being released on Wednesday (April 23).
"When I arrived at the ICU, they told my boyfriend: 'Be thankful that a body hasn't arrived,'" she candidly told the Spanish news outlet.

The woman spoke to Ultima Hora about the terrifying event and said she had a "bad time seeing myself alone, with all those tubes," referring to her time in the hospital.
She also alleged that the first thing she did when she spotted the flies in her cup was call Deli Corner - the coffee company.
"They told me to bring my cell phone and they would refund the 50 cents," she said. "I did it with the good faith that it wouldn't happen to another person, I told them that I didn't want the money, I just wanted them to do something."

It has been reported that the vending machine has been closed after the shocking incident.
In addition to this, the airport allegedly opened an inquiry and is said to have asked the vending machine company to inspect its devices.
The young woman's family has also filed a complaint against the airport to the National Police. They claim the bugs in the coffee cup are a possible violation of public health and reckless injuries, per Evening Standard.
They also added that the machine was poorly maintained by airport staff.
